What mobo and cooling are you using? I managed 4037MHz on watercooling and an Asus P5Q.

What temps were you getting with that OC? I have just put the Q9550 back on air and now have the same cooler as you.

just ran 3dmk again and it's sitting at 43o so thats good (i think?)

The max safe operating temperature for the 45nm quad core Q9000 series according to Intel as per their datasheet is 71.4C when it's dissapating the full 95W of thermal power. Here's the PDF:

It's in Figure 5-2 (p76).

I would try and lower the voltage a bit, that should get the temperature down a nice bit.

My Q9450 is perfectly stable at 1.1625V at 3.2GHz, and the maximum temperature I saw after a 48hr stint of Prime95 (don't ask, was working late at the time ) was 55C.
