I recently bought what was advertised as a mach 2 GT with r404 from ebay.

When it arrived it says mach ii on the rear and r134a

At idle I get -48 on the display and -26 in mbm5 (dfi nforce4)

under load of my 3500 winchester at 2.57 with 1.55v on prime 95 this becomes -38 and -5

not looking like a gt?

any other way of telling?

Its ok...mine says R134 and its very very R404..and its a stock unit.

One way to tell if its a GT is the LCD display...basically...the GT has one..the ST doesnt, and your temps sound more or less about right for the load :)

well I have a display so it sounds good. Thanks

Yeah sounds like it is a GT - they are all built around a recharged compressor, hence the r134a labelling. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Did you order a mach2?

My GT says Mach2 GT on the sticker on the back. Of course it could well have been re-gassed to r404 which is the only difference between a mach2 and a GT.

It was sold to me as a GT, which, if it's a regassed mach2, is a bit cheecky.

Does eveyone's mach2 GT have that written on the sticker or has anyone got one like mine

Not really cheekey as essentially all the other features and components are the same the re-gas from R134 to R404 means you get 5-10 degrees better cooling.

It's no big shakes.

Some peeps could not afford a GT in the beginning (or a standard mach was okay for cooler CPU's) - so get a standard mach and have it regassed at a later date seems like a cost effective solution.

We have seen it here a few times, but now if a re-gas is going to happen, peeps opt for R507.
