How can I OC with Asus Rampage and Q9450

You can increase the vcore a fair bit more matey, but that means loadsa heat so its a ballencing act.

With your levels a bit more NB and fsb volts will help as it gets higher but I wouldnt worry about much else for the time being. 60c is the point where you sit up and take notice of the temps, if it gets there in 30seconds its gunna go way up, if it takes an hour it will probably be ok.

Hi Tom!

I upped the FSB from 360 to 370 (CPU registers as 2.97). I have hwmonitor open at all times so will keep an eye on the CPU core temps - idling at 39, 35, 38, 37.

I have maybe a noob question! Whatever I set the CPU FSB at (i.e 370) is automatically assumed by Windows as the RAM FSB? I ask because in CPU-Z the Memory tab shows DRAM Frequency as 370mhz and FSB:DRAM as 1:!. I think my OCZ Reaper HPC is capable of 1600mhz. So maybe I'm not utilising the memory settings (currently ALL set to AUTO in the BIOS)?

thats just the fsb & ram locked at 1:1 dude, there should be an option to change that in bios, there is also different NB straps (200,266,333,400) youll have to have a play and see what works best for your config

you should be able to push to at least 400FSB under 1.3V with your set up - that would give you an overall clock speed of 3.2Ghz, and I imagine if you keep your ratio 1:1, then your memory will be fine at 1600MHz.

My theory for OC'ing is to get your FSB up as much as possible with as low of volts as you can get stable. Good luck!
