High CFM 120mm fans & capable fan controller

I have been looking at coupling high CFM fans with a nice controller.

Fan wise I have looked at the Delta TFB1212GHE Extreme - 225CFM @ 60db!!! Needing 29.40 watts and 2.45 amps I don't think there is a controller capable of feeding one let alone 3/4 of these...

The YS-TECH FD1238 looks more reasonable - 125CFM @ 40db...

Delta AFB1212VHE - ~130CFM @ 48db, 0.60amps @ 12v could work.

Ideally, I want to be able to knock the fans down to about 10db to leave on over night to f@h/download/etc, have the fans at about 20db for regualr usage or whack the fans right up for gaming/benching/summer time...

I saw the super flower fan master - looks ok to me - if the akasa is the same I would get that as it is available in the UK.

I'd like to hook up 3, possibly 4 high CFM fans to the controller...

Any thoughts/recommendations?

I'm with the super flower. I've always preferred rheobus controllers to pwm. You could however get a Matrix Orbital display. They are good up to 1.2a per channel if I remember rightly.

Cheers mate. I had a quick look at the Matrix Orb... It left me... a little underwhelmed! What size is that? 5.25 bay job?

Did you find the Super flower in the UK?

The 2x 5.25 bay models can control 4 fans, whereas the 1x 5.25 ones can only do 3 fans. The thing I liked most about the matrix orbs was that you could adjust the fan speed via software.

Keep them coming! :)

I'd like something sleek, with plenty of adjustability if poss (say 5v, 7v, 12v or dials/knobs for ultimate tweakability. Software adjustment sounds cool but I'd like some dials to grab for ease of use!)

Edit: I like the Crystalfontz though... Are there any brushed alu ones around? No massively bothered about an LCD...

I'm thinking the sunflower/akasa controller with 3/4 delta EFB1212SHE

OR

scythe karma meter with 3/4 YS-Tech FD1238...

Could the scythe handle the delta's?

CFM Vs. dB

Delta = 141.96 CFM @ 3700 RPM, 52.5 dBA

YS-Tech = 125CFM @ 2800RPM, 40.5dBA

Not sure if an extra 17 CFM is 'worth' and extra 12dB.

Does halving the voltage halve CFM & dB? Just wondering as the sunflower can do ~6v - ~12v... No idea on amps/v control on the karma...

Opinions?

Don''t get the YS-Tec's dude. I've had a lot of those in my time and for some reason on almost every batch they forgot to put a washer on the fan to stop it from being easily pulled apart. I've also had 2 go noisy on me after a short while.

Nice one for the heads up :D

I need a new case to fit this in anyway.

The extra psu and rad (for pelt) = absolute mess in my old case - no room for anything!

I should get my rig running tonight. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. This time I'm locking myself in my room, turning off my phone and getting the f!*ker built!
