Hi, quick intro before my pc blue screens. lol. I'm Ed a student at swansea uni studying civil engineering. Been into comp's since the athlon 64, so 2-3 years.

Just wanted to say hi.

HI :wavey: :wavey:

atm my pc is very unstable was defragging with o&o defrag and the system hung for a min and crashed. now on of my raid 0 hd's seems to be corrupt and it takes a few attempts to load xp :( ,

As it's raid zero i am worried about all my music so is it best to burn the dvd's in safe mode? Will it let me?

Not sure if you'll be able to burn in safe mode. Safe mode only uses a few drivers that will almost always give great stability.

Give it a try is your best bet.

Edit: forgot to say HEY DUDE.

Don't know if you are only doing it because you comp is unstable, but you can edit your post to add new info rather than quadruple posting.

The button is in the bottom right and says "edit". Unimaginative, maybe. Effective, defiantly. :)

Another edit: Try dropping the clock down a bit, that might fix the stability issues....

Thanks fo rthe quick reply. Atm the pc seems pretty stable, but the problem is when the hd's are most active i.e. start up. Burning a DVD may cause a crash aswell. It won't be fun.

Might be better to put it onto flash media then. If it crashes then you only have to redo one track rather than a whole DVD. Could always transfer it to another PC and burn from there. Much more time consuming, but it might be safer.

I'm sure someone else with actual knowledge of this will come along in a bit and give you a sensible idea.

Time for CS or TF2, later.

Flash media, never heard of that before. But if it does crash, as the dvd's are DVD+R that means i can't write on it again doesn't it?

Soz, didn't see that edit button only the quote. Will edit next time :p

DVD-R can usually only be wrote on once, but i think you can do it so that it can be burned in stages, but only once overall. Ie: you can put one movie on that takes up half the space. Watch the movie then burn a second one on to it, filling up the DVD. Would obviously be a legal copy of two very short movies.

Flash media are everywhere. I'm sure you know of them. Things like USB pens, SD cards. Basically fast, small, rewritable media. It's dirt cheap these days.

What A way to introduce yourself :p

Watcha Matey :wavey: sure you will get your answers and any other help here, and as you found out we are a friendly bunch and pretty quick at replying- between us all cos we dont sit here 24/7.

Oh, I know what you mean now. I thought you were talking about a piece of software. my bad.

Thanks for the help.

Hello cl0ck_ed and welcome to OC3D. For future reference it is better to edit all your posts into one single one too :)

Ok, finally got most of my music burned off. I changed to a new cosmos s case which has hd cooling. So it appears to be more stable. As one of the disks became corrupt during a defrag, i think they may have got too hot.

Unfortunatly the CM cosmos s case has a fault and will have to be returned.
