HI ALL OC3D MEMBERS..... :) :) :)

Hi all..
hello.gif
i'm Nick. 18, Australian, and all those hoo haa..

I'm not much of a professional gamer, but i do game a LOT. My friends find my gaming hardcore, but i don't think so. (LOL).. i could finish any game out there (except GTA or Mafia or Mass Effect coz they are sooooo friggin HUGE) within 5 days. (mostly 2 days).. So although i'm not professional, you can call me addicted.

I'm a fan of performance. I usually play games in the highest possible details. Back when i had my gts 250 as the primary, i was playing METRO2033 in highest detail settings (1024X768 though).. and had my E7500 OCd to 3.68Ghz. (2.9Ghz default)... WITH THE STOCK COOLER

Currently, I'm building a new gaming rig. Of this configuration.

EVGA 3X SLI motherboard

Intel i7 950 CPU

6GB DDR3 1600Mhz Gskill ripjaw RAM (with cooler)

SAMSUNG SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA 7200Rpm Hdd

InWin Commander 750W PSU

Cooler master Hyper 212 plus CPU cooler

EVGA gtx 570 graphics card

EVGA gts 250 PhysX card

Samsung DVD writer

cooler master HAF 932 casing.

i couldn't add any SSDs or soundcard coz of budget issues. I will throw some 120GB SSD, and a fatality PRO sound card once i get the $. And, Yes, the hyper 212 plus is kinda cheap selection for the rig. I have plans to upgrade to a Noctua NH-D14 later on.

well i have a problem about that, i will not be able to use the fans for the RAM since the D14 is kinda big... If it doesn't fit right, i will end up going for something like H70.

and many thanks to Tom from "Timetolivecustoms"... Dude helped me on selecting the motherboard and the CPU cooler (noctua NH-D14).

I'll be posting some pics of the rig once it's completed.

ROCK ON!

I have a NH-D14 sitting in front of my monitor right now waiting to be installed. Waiting for motherboard to arrive, Umart is almost out of stock of everything due to the flood :/

Edit: you can mount the cooler both ways if it will fit. Shouldn't loose more then one ram slot. Check to see if your board support triple channel from the alternate slots. Mine does, well when it arrives...
