You'll usually see me roaming about forums.guru3d but i've decided to come over to Overclock3d, It seems a friendly community. Also guru3d is becoming a bit dead and it takes day's just to get a topic qouted. =)

Anyway Hi, I'm Dan. I hope to get to know some of you guys in the future.

Indeed it does. You don't seem to get your questions answered, nore can you have a decent conversation with most users anymore.

Yeah thanks.

Welcome to the house!! have you started folding?

I can't say I have, I've never even heard of it until I came to this forum. I'm thinking why are so many people going out their way to help charity? it never usually happens, I've been involved in many of projects where i've had to blagg, even begg for people to give some sort of charity.

I've read up a little but would like some things answered, I've heard it helps fight certain diseases such as Cancer, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease. I was wondering how much it helps and how?

Also how would I go about getting involved?

I've had my core i5 running over 4.0ghz before now on air. My PSU failed around a week ago, I'm currently running on a 350W supply rite now (I know its suicidal but its a really good PSU) so I won't be overclocking anything for around a month unless anyone fancies getting me a 600W Silent Pro

I don't really leave my PC on all day, also I live in the countryside and our internet connection is not very good at all, below 3mbps all of the time. uploading stuff means the other's in the house get really annoyed.

I'd love to get involved though even if I can't upload continuously everyday?

Welcome!

Folding doesn't upload continuously. It only uses your connection to download a WU. Most are small unless you get into doing bigadv. Once it's working on something, your net isn't being used. You could disconnect your PC altogether. It won't need a net connection again until the WU is finished so it can upload the results.

It doesn't really fight the diseases per se, but the research it finds could be used towards that goal eventually.
