Finally decided to head over here after watching Tom's YouTube channel for about a year!

A little about me I guess:

Like most types of games but specifically realistic ones and FPS' (anyone heard of the DCS series?)

Got my computer about 2 years ago:

i7 920 @ 3.5GHz

4870 1GB (still a good card to be honest, the 6970 looks interesting though!)

Homemade M^3 Amp (looks like crap, sounds amazing!)

Currently waiting for Sandy Bridge to build a new fileserver:

2x1TB Raid 1 for important stuff

4x2TB Raid 5 for less important stuff

True, true but my original plan was to go for an i3 530 (much like the build you did). It seems though that the 530 has gone out of stock everywhere.

Hopefully it will do a few other things than serving files too. Some game servers and video ripping, enconding and transcoding are all likely tasks.
