Hey buddies. Help please?

I know your frustration mate, we have all been there at one time or another.

I'd like to add that resetting the bios isn't the best solution. Motherboards are clever but they need some configuration, at the very least load the optimal defaults.

If you can, make a note of your memory's timings from the manufacturers website, and enter the details manually in to the bios. Make sure AHCI is on, for the sake of your SSD. Switch off the cpu change states and fix the processor to it's default multiplier.

But by this time you have probably had it with your motherboard though. Remember that if the supplier tests it and finds nothing wrong they may send it back to you.

Hmmmm

all your temps are good?
had stuttering when my p180 had 2 280's in there and heat was causing the issue.
Sounds obvious but at least we can rule that out

@Mysterea
Before I formatted the SSD I did a factory reset in my BIOS and there after did the format and re-installed Windows 7 64bit. I've done all the necessary updates. In other words BIOS settings set at factory defaults. I haven't touched any of those. I have also previously tried playing around with the timings and voltages. Its so bad that it is as if my rig is bottle necking. Damm I am frustrated :(

I still say I have a faulty Motherboard :D (Or I hope)

Thanks for your reply buddy

Update all drivers:Bios, Chipset, USB3.0, LAN, Audio and whatever else you need.

If already done then take out one stick or ram and boot if everything goes ok for a while then shut down and switch sticks and try again.

Cant believe I forgot about this til now and I see no mention of you trying it but have you tried updating your BIOS to the latest version? If you're running the latest version, try using the previous version instead. A faulty BIOS could cause this problem too.

I just restored my BIOS to "factory defaults". I have set the RAM timings to standard spec as well. Its not the RAM. I have tried different DDR3 RAM as well. In other word my BIOS settings are set as default factory spec by its own.

I have arranged with my supplier and I am taking my rig to them on Monday to show them what it does. They said we can just swap it out for a new motherboard :D..........I tell you mate, computers can be complicated some times lol

Thank for you message

@NeverBackDoen
I have all latest drivers installed and check with MSI Live Updater that everything is up to date as well. I have switched RAM's and tried running different make and single sticks. No diffs haha

Thanks for your reply buddy

Yes my temperature on manual OC mode never went higher than 70 Degrees on "Very High" setting Intelburntest. As I am running default settings in my BIOS now they are even much lower running at about 50 degree full load test Intelburn.

Thanks mate

Ok I have taken my whole rig to my supplier. The technician swapped the mobo and still the same problem. Stuttering. He tried different ATI GPU's and still stuttering. (NB! Not yet tried a Nvidia card) I do have the latest BIOS update which also came with my mobo.

The technician said he thinks it might be that my motherboard (MSI GD65 Z77a Gaming) is not compatible with DirectX 11 or vice versa. I am running Windows 7 64bit so now I am totally confused. I mean I have a brand new mobo that came out the other day and DirectX 11 is the latest version available so what should I try next? Is there a way of uninstalling DirectX 11 and reinstalling it with DirectX 9.0c?

The technician communicated with his head office and they are building the exact same rig as I have so they can test it by their sidfe and see what happens. I will be hearing from them within the next day or 2. I am so fed up that I don't even want to play games anymore :(

Will keep you guys posted
Thanks........

well i just tried to check the MSI site but the page for your mobo is down, i would find it worrying if that board doesn't support DX11 (im sure it does). good luck buddy i had massive problems with my first intel build, turned out to be the SSD in the end although i don't think this is the case for you.

*edit*

It just dawned on me, have you disabled Lucid, when had my gd45 i had to disable it or i could not game at all.

@demonking
My supplier tried a brand new SSD and installed a fresh Windows 7 64bit and still no luck. I am not sure about "Lucid".......is that the real name or is there a different name perhaps? And where do one enable/disable it. Lol sorry I do not know about Lucid. Maybe I am stupid haha

I am running Windows 7 64bit now. I was wondering whether I should format my SSD again and try installing Windows 8. Maybe it would make a difference? :(

Ok mates. I took my pc to my supplier and while I was there we replaced every single part inside my rig. CPU, mobo (A standard GD65 z77a one we tried as well). We even tried a stronger PSU. Nothing seems te be fixing the micro stuttering. My rig is being send to the head office of my supplier now to see whether they can't find the fault. If I run Heaven and 3Dmark11 you can immediately see the micro stuttering. And its even worse by playing any games.

I was wondering whether it might be a fault with Windows 7 and some compatibility issues? I thought maybe if I had to install Windows 8 it would solve the problem? But I hate Windows 8........lol

I am getting my rig back withing the next 2 weeks

I would try doing a clean install of Win7, definitely not Win8 though - Lots of programs that still don't work properly with Win8.

Downgrade your video drivers 2-3 official releases and install those instead. Make sure to select the 'High Performance' preset under the power management in the Control Panel.

Also, try to minimize the amount of startup/background processes running, it could be something is hogging your precious CPU cycles - You never know...?

P.s. 1.25v for 4.6Ghz - Very nice :P

I think by microstuttering, I think I had the same issue years ago. I'd play a game and it would stutter like f*** making the whole system unusable even just on Windows Desktop.

For me, it was the hard drive, it gave it away because it would make a bit of a clunk sound. But you've tried another SSD so it can't be that?

Hey people. This was an old thread which I posted and had microstutter problems with my newly built rig. Finally I managed to find the fault. It was the brand new faulty OCZ Vertex 4 SSD. My supplier had my pc for 5 weeks and they couldn't solve the problem. Eventually I asked my pc back and started swapping out parts from my brother's rig. That's how I found the SSD faulty. I sent the faulty drive to my supplier for testing and they also said the drive is faulty. They did a claim for me and swapped it out for the new OCZ Vertex 450 SSD as the Vertex 4 is discontinued. I installed Windows and all my games. AMAZING! Everything running smoothly and I am smiling from ear to ear.

1 week later now and my pc just freezes for no reason in any game. I mostly play BF3 and Counterstrike GO. I noticed that the stuttering issue is back again. So I decided to format the SSD and do a clean Windows 7 64 bit install again with all my games etc. The stuttering problem is still there. I decided to download some SSD benchmark programs like AS SSD and ATTO Disc Benchmark. Now I need help. To me it looks like the brand new Vertex 450 drive is also faulty. I mean seriously? Can I have such bad luck or might something else be causing the drives to go faulty all the time? I mean if I had to contact my supplier on Monday to tell them the new SSD drive has also gone faulty they will definitely be thinking something suspicious is going on this side.............

You were right buddy......It was the SSD all the time. But according to my supplier they did swap it out with another SSD, but I doubt they did......One can never believe what suppliers say until you see it with your own eyes ;)

I've never had an OCZ ssd , so I don't have any experience with them.
But after reading some of the feedback here on the forums that seems to be the problem with OCZ ssd's , a few get lucky and get a good drive , but most don't.
I know it's going to be an extra expense , but you might consider another brand.
I have a Corsair and have had no problems at all , I have a Intel 120GB & 240GB in my other system and Samsung are good . Some are saying Sandisk are good too.

Hey bro. I really don't mind getting a different brand. Its just a slap in my face to contact my supplier again because we have been struggling with my rig now for atleast 7 weeks or so........

Thanks for your reply

I want to upload 2 x images here but I have no idea how to do it. I have already created an album with the 2 x pictures attached into it on my profile. Want to share the benchmarks.......Any help please?

Thanks for your reply

Photobucket.com works good for me , It's free , create an account and download your image there , then copy image url using the insert image tab on the forums.
