I'm new here...obviously. I'm getting ready to upgrade to a new rig. That is one of the main reasons I am here. Plus, this seems like one of the only forums where the people aren't so stuck up their own @s5es.

Hoping to enjoy me stay.

So, cheers. :D

Welcome to the forums. :wavey:

Those specs look great and will go nicely with either 4850 or 9800GT (from another one of his threads).

Are you planning on changing the tower?

Welcome to OC3D mate and that's a nice little build you've got planned there. I expect to see pics when build time comes :)

I'd consider the i7 for long term option if you can afford it...

I was considering it, but I kinda have a $1300 budget. I7's and their mobos, and DDR3 is just too expensive ATM.

i7 is not the way forward for a budget atm, theres no need for it mate and there are better cheaper i7's due with in the next year.

Get yourself a decent dual core cpu, e8400/e8500/e8600 budget depending and that will make a nice rig with the right motherboard.

1333mhz ddr3 can be had for ddr2 money now aswell.

No paticular reason for the 8GB. I know it could put a strain on the memory controller, but I could end up needing it for some ventures.
