Hello

I have just put a new self build computer together which is giving me lots of issues. At the moment when i try to run Windows XP setup it is restarting itself during the install screen. For peripheral reasons i need to run Windows XP 32-bit but wonder if I am having a hardware conflict.

This is in my comp:

Intel Extreme DX38BT motherboard

Intel Extreme QX9650 processor

Corsair Dominator DDR2 Ram 4 x 1Gb

Nvidia Quadro FX 3500 graphics card

Western Digital Raptor X 10000rpm 150GB x2

Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 500gb x 2

850W PSU

Can anyone tell me if any of this would cause a conflict on Windows XP Professional 32 bit?????

I know when I was looking at M/B using x38 there were issues with using 4 x 1gb ram

Isn't the DX38BT a DDR3 MB? That would make your DDR2 pretty useless and prevent it booting up (if you have somehow been able to get them to fit).

Oops

Sorry Guys,

Thanks for the quick response but I meant to say DDR3 Ram. So that is definately not the problem.

What fsb are you trying, I read the DX38BT doesn't OC well.

What OS' have you had on those HDs and could their boot sector be the problem. I take it your opting for RAID and loaded the drivers for the chipset.

Oh, and have you switched the BIOS to boot from your selected HD after the xp files have been copied, rather than the cd/dvd? (sorry if that's an insult)

There's a whole world of DX38BT Bonetrail info available that I suspect you need to search
