Hi all, I have the LG W2363D 23" which i have had set-up for 2 weeks or so, really pleased with it.

I'm just looking for help with 3d and 120hz.

When i go to Nvidia display the highest Hz i get is 60, which confused me.

I've looked over forums and not really found much adivce.

To get 120hz 2d or 3d, do i need a dual dvi cable? (currently have a single dvi-d to hdmi)

any help is appreciated.

Thanks

the hdmi on the back isnt 1.4a compliant. u cant get 3D through that port...

"Specifications of the LG W2363D

Panel Size: 23″ Widescreen, 16:9

Panel Type: TN – Twisted Nematic

Native Resolution: 1920×1080 (Full HD)

Contrast ratio: 70000:1 (dynamic)

Maximum brightness: 400 cd/m2

Response Time: 3ms (typical) (GtG)

Viewing angles (hor./vert.): 170/160 degrees

Video Connectivity: 1x Dual-Link DVI, 2x HDMI

Energy consumption: 49W (in use), 1.4W (in standby)

Size & Weight: 555.5×205.95×419.2 mm, 5.2 kg

You can probably notice very easy that the specs are quite similar to that of the competition. An interesting thing here is the higher maximum brightness level that can be a plus for when using the stereo 3d mode, but that needs to be verified. Another thing that I’m pretty sure you’ll ask about, because the availability of two HDMI inputs, is if they will be 1.4 or not and if they can be used for feeding 3D content to the monitor? The answer to this question is no, they are not HDMI 1.4 and in order to display stereo 3D content on the LG you’ll need to use the Dual-Link DVI input on the monitor. "

Thanks very much for that. so if i replaced it with my dvi-d is that "dual link" or would i need something like this..http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0017K6B...de=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B0017K6BBO

Sorry also, would that explain why i am only able to get 60hz? is 120hz not compatible on hmdi?

A dual-link DVI cable was included with my W2363D. I only think DL DVI is compatible with 120hz on this monitor, but not a 100% sure about that. The link you provided is not a DL DVI cable. The only difference between a regular one and DL is some of the pins. I think this one is a DL DVI: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Startech-DV...1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1314304786&sr=1-4

The native res of the monitor is 1920 x 1080 @ 60hz, but it is changeable to 120hz in the PC section of resolutions, that may confuse you a bit if you don't notice. Try using just the DVI cable without the HDMI adapter.

I tried setting res through the Nvidea options, but i have only used the dvi-hdmi, so i'll try the other one and see how i get on.

Would the cable that come with it also do 3d? i still dont fully know what setup i require.

did u not get a DVI lead in the box? u shouldnt need to buy anything

just downloaded your user guide and they should have provided one for you to use..

it has a table of all INPUT combinations / resoloutions / frequencies.

HDMI will NOT go to 120HZ on any resoloution.

DVI-D will ONLY go to 120hz on a resoloution of 1920 x 1080.

so it seems if you use the DVI connection. bang up the resoloution to max. all your problems should be solved

link to PDF site if you dont have instruction book
