Help Please!

Ok guys bit of a major problem, got my 500r this morning, installed everything and connected everything, and then i smell smoke. I take alook inside and to my horror the front panel wires are smoking?!?! it is specificly the power sw and all of those cables? Any ideas what i can do?

Edit: also it has burned right through some parts of the wire. it seems to be one wire inparticular

Edit2: acctaully i think i found a problem that i did

there was a wire labled 1394 and i think i connected it to the wrong connector on the mobo and that was what was getting hot and it burned through the thin sleaving on the pw swtich etc

silly mistake i guess. aahhh thats why they call it firewire? haha it has only just dawned on me that thats what is it...

i had it in a usb or somthing!

Cool. Glad you got it sorted. You have to be careful with those wires.

Hope it's still working. Yup, you should take a quick glimpse at the manual just before you put everything.

Yer too right! im sure i wont make the same mistake again! just like i have never tried to run a powersupply at 115 volts in the uk again! haha

Usually the current PSUs come with active switching between starting voltages so you wouldn't need to set it to the correct power input when setting up your system.
