Help on my 3930k overclocking.

So this is my first time to OC my i7-3930k the right way, but have no clue what i'm doing on this

Will just like to hear, is it the same way as i7-3770k or is it more to it ?

Spec list:
Asus ROG formula X79 board
Corsair 760 psu
Corsair h100i
Corsair PD 1866 mhz
and some more stuff you will se in my buildlog soon, just have it on a test table right now.

Pretty much exactly the same concept as a 3770k.

Just be aware 2011 will need more volts as it's Sandy arch rather than Ivy (and also extreme), and it will also have a much higher heat output.

Follow Tom's 1155 OCing guide, and pretty much all of the same concepts can be reapplied.

Thanks Jamesriley, just needed to be sure on the way - It is better to ask here, then kill the cpu and be whitout a pc the next week or more

Will just like hear if any one have problem whit ram MHz on windows 8? My system will not boot up whit the 1866 or 1600 MHz, but only 1333 MHz :/

im running 1866mhz fine with win8 and a 3930k. did you set the correct timings?
