help needed

I'm new on this site. Not much experience with building computers.

I came across this computer with this spec yesterday.

OS- vista home premium

cpu- amd phenom x4 9150e quad core processor

ram- 2 gb ddr2

hdd- 320 gb sata

multi card reader

graphics- built in to mother board

audio- integrated

monitor- 22inch

Also it comes with office 2007 and notron 360 version 2.0

It cost £500

What are peoples opinions on this machine?

Also does anybody have any suggestions for building the equivalent for less or building better for about the same money.

It's a good PC if you're only using it for internet, but don't even think about games. You might want to take a look at the costs of building one yourself, it might be quite a bit lower.

Can you make any suggestions for building my own? Maybe a spec list with cost?

Yeah talking around £500. Not to fussed about it been a quad core. If that helps.

Sounds like a good midrange gaming PC Personally I'd go for a slighly lighter GPU (don't know about the price of the 4830 in the UK?) and better screen (1680x1080 at least). Might want to take a llook at the Acer H223HQbmid. 21.5" but full HD (1920x1080) with vga, dvi and hdmi connections. Costs about €170 in the netherlands.

EDIT: let me correct that. The Acer V223HQ has the same resolution, only has VGA but it costs €30 less, €140. For a regular user VGA would be sufficient with a DVI->VGA adapter. I haven't read any reviews of the screen yet though.

Yeah I forgot about that.

I guess I replaced the OS with a graphics card. :|
