Sorry for bothering you, but I honestly thought this would be my best bet, since I dont know where the proper sub forum will be and also wanted solid advice and comments, and if you consider it prudent to repost this in some other convenient place, please do so.
My question briefly is:
Where the hell can I buy good hardware in Mexico???
Believe it or not, this is proving to be a real pain in....in.....everywhere actually!!!
You´ll see, my PC, my old and loyal PC, is pretty much on its last legs, it struggles to keep the rythm with modern stuff, its getting unresponsive and makes a lot of "funny" noises, etc etc etc.
So.....I want to build a new rig, a top-fast-great new computer. The problem, the frekin problem, is.....THAT HARDAWRE SCENE HERE IS CRAP!!!
Mexico doesn´t get the "nice" stuff, things here suck big time!!!
And I mean it!!!
The top hardware takes toooooooo damn long to arrive, to very few places and very very expensive!!!
For example, I remember when the ATI 2900 series were being reviewed-benchmarked by lots of tech sites like Tom´s, Anand, etc; 1 retailer here, 1 SHOP, was selling the 1900 series like top of the line... at 9 980 pesos!!!
The 2900 series was selling at no more than 500 dollars- which at the time-the conversion was to 6 500 pesos! Why such an extra????!!!!!! and for the last generation!!!!!
That is just 1 example, but I think is enough to give you an idea of the crappy situation Im facing.
I want a core i7, an hd 4870x2 (or something like that) a couple of 1 TB and/or up Hard drives for a RAID1, cool and functional case, etc etc; but I cant-I wont be able, without running through a lot of trouble & asking lots of advice, cause the hardware acces here is CRAP!!
Despite my last days search, Im not able to find decent new stuff, everything is old-low base stuff.
Newegg, Mwave and the like have many good things, but they DONT SELL TO MEXICO!!!
So, once again, NAFTA will prove wothless for me again
E-bay is as annoying and restricted as the aformentioned retailers.
So, this is why I ask you for help, I appeal to your mercy-compasion-humanity, i beg you to help me find some way to manage to build a great PC despite living in such a backward country.
Any info/help you can give me, to get decent parts, or heck, even to get a custom build, will be extremely appreciated. I dont know about the chances, I think that all the great modders out there would be up to making a custom PC by request, though Im newbie in this scene-medium, so...I could be wrong. But I do have hope that I can get a nice rig by someone among you, awesome modders :worship:
