Help! Intermittant boot issues

Hi guys, i had been gaming the other day and computer has been running no problems

I turned it off to go out somewhere at one stage, upon returning, i hit the switch, and the PC wont turn on at all, the RAM would light up as they are the dominator platinums, but nothing else.

Fans don't come on, computer is just dead silent.
I reset the battery as i don't have a bios switch, and computer booted up no problems..

Next up i set up the overclock again, and once again the computer won't boot up... Confused as hell, the computer has been running fine for ages.

Anyone encountered this? Once again i'll just say that the memory lights up, but nothing else.

Now, a few days have passed, and upon returning home each day, the computer would not turn on, the RAM would light up and stay lit, but nothing else would run. I tried a few things, but usually if i turned the power supply off, and come back to the computer about half our later, it would turn on.

So it's really confusing me now, im typing on it now, no problems, but i know when i need to restart, for sure it will give me the same issue.

My next plan of action, was to completely reset the computers OC, so it's running at factory. So i completely reset everything in the BIOS, and when i press f10 to save and exit, the computer switches off, and now it won't turn on again, completely stock, the RAM lights up as usual, but nothing will operate.

The only other thing i've noticed is a slight buzz coming from my power supply, only can hear it if you put your head next to the power supply.

Do all power supplies buzz a little like that, and you can only hear the buzz if you are right next to it.

It's not even a year old, Seasonic XP-1000 Platinum.

First thing i would try is to get the motherboard to post...
my first thought was that your motherboard might be dying.
this means removing all items from the motherboard, except 24pin power(could leave your CPU in also), and trying to reach the post screen.
after reaching the post screen, slowly add items abck to your motherboard, ram, graphics cards, hdd's.
and yes this is an elimination method... as well I have no idea what the problem could be.

Sounds like a motherboard problem to me, which could be solved by updating the bios. Does your motherboard support flashing the bios with a usb?

Thanks guys, i will try the BIOS version.
Although i currently run F4a which is a beta bios, F5B and F5D are both newer versions but BETA versions.

Should i try updating to these or go back to the last non-beta bios?

roll back to the last fully supported version.
betas are good but can be glitchy

Ok well before that reply I changed to the latest beta bios and when the computer shut down it didn't start back up again :(
Will try a fully supported bios tomorrow. But I think an RMA is at hand. Not sure how they warranty a board that's no longer produced...

Replying from my phone now :(

Hey guys,

BIOS is definately not the issue, i am running a fully supported non beta bios now.
Also I sent the motherboard in for RMA. They seem to thing i had a couple of bent pins where the CPU sit.

They fixed it. The computer worked great for a few days after getting it back, however the problem has emerged again.
Do PSU's ever cause silly behaviour like this?
