Help High temps

Hi

Upgraded my cooling got 1 360mm UT60 and 1 240 UT60 its cooling 2x HD7970 mild overclock and a I7-3930K OC to 4.6Ghz and 1.344v

Prime makes the CPU reach 79C on hottest core
BF3 makes CPU reach 71C and both GPU reach 61C

This is hotter than when i was running just the 360mm UT60 on its own, what's wrong, tried reseating waterblock on CPU but i hadn't even moved them from last build how has adding a 240mm rad raised temps only thing i changed was the syth gentle typhoon along the 360mm to apache fans, but their specifications are about the same.

Could be the pump is too week for this setup. Also did you make sure to bleed both rads.79c on cpu is very high for 4.6ghz @1.344v on water.

Pump is a D5 set to 3 on the variable speed.

setup is as bleed as i can get it ive put it upside down every angle no more air coming out.

Tried turning the pump to max didnt make a blind bit of difference in temps. Do these chips just run hot and this a normal temp for a 2 7970 as well in the loop?

Cpu at stock is about 67C at full load.

No i dont think so.I can run my 3930k 4.5ghz @1.32v on a xspc rs360 750 kit and max temp is 61-63c running f@h.
Have tried both akasa apache fans and cm sickleflows, dont think its the fans, they are performing well on thick rads.
I think its the pump thats the issue here. Two thick rads, cpu block and 2 gpu blocks is a little to much to handle.

the GPU core temps can add to temp, but with the addition of the 2nd rad,
temps should be on the downward way. your ambient is? fans are running 100%?
retest at stock vs ambient, delta should be 20°-32°
doesnt matter really on device order, but you might look into a new layout..
GPU->GPU->360->RASA->RES->PUMP->240 might take the GPU temp sting out before
the CPU since that is the hottie..

airdeano

The water goes through all rads before going to the CPU anyway don't think that's an issue. The pump is a d5 should be able to handle this loop right?

those temps do seem high for that setup, make sure there is nothing restricting waterflow (kinks in the hose etc) and try changing the fans or adding more to see if airflow is a issue.

and can you also post idle temps

cpu idles around 37C

Just returned all to stock and in BF3 i get 69C on each gpu and 74C on cpu this is higher than when i ran with a single 360 rad WTF is going on? could it be the apache fans as thats all ive changed bar the case, and adding a new rad which should make temps go down not up.

the water flow seems fine though.

any other ideas this is driving me nuts, the coolant is very warm when i put my finger in it and the heat coming off the rads is very high, so maybe its not the loop but fans thats the problem?

to me it would seem either more restriction in the loop as mentioned, or the new fans you have put on are just not as good as the old ones....i would put the old fans back on just to see what happens, if the temps are still high, then im not sure

Looking to your picture that would mean you run water from up to down, rigth?

I would change it so it gos from down to up even if it would mean that it gos to GPU firsth.
That would all so maybe help geting air out of GPU blocks, as air dont need to go down insted of normal up.

could fans have a big impact on temps as the bottom rad where the fans are pushing through it i can hardly feel any airflow just feels like some warm air around it.

scratch that if i put paper over it it hovers about an inch of the rad so there must be airflow.

I highly doubt its the fans, +1 to restriction somewhere

you said you remounted the blocks, did you reapply the TIM, and if so, how much did you use? too much or too little can cause abnormally high temps

i used just enough that it covered the heatspreader but not so much it squashed out from the sides.

I tryed this
I disabled all fan except the 2 on the 240rad and cpu hovered around 81C, then i re enabled all fans and the temp didnt change 1 degree WTF?

How can i find out a restriction the water flowed fine when i was bleeding it.
