HELP!! Dead Motherboard??

Hi, guys

So my rig is not turning on today but last night it was running fine and shut down properly. When i try to turn it on nothing happens, no light(not even a blink), no sound and no post of course.
It appears that the mobo is not getting any power and the on-board light is off when the PSU has power. So I thought it might be a dead PSU. Then I short the 24 pin connector and the PSU is working fine powering all the fans. pumps, leds etc...I don't have any spare parts in hand. How do I test if the mobo is dead??

specs
Gigabyte z97 soc force
4690k
980s sli
Coolermaster V1200 PSU
all running in a custom loop

Any ideas appreciated...

Think you answered your own thread there.

If it was the ram, cpu etc etc there would at least be a short moment before the system shuts off.

It does sound as if your MB may have gone to silicon heaven.

However, before rushing out to get a new one, double check all connections on the MB, also have you tried pressing the power button on the MB itself?

Thanks for the reply.

Everything is connected properly on the board. The on-board power switch is normally lit up to indicate that the board has power but as I said before everything is off and pressing it does nothing. I just want some confirmation that its dead.

It's only been 2 years and now I have to get another one to save my raid array.
