HI GUYS I HAVE £270 TO SPEND ON UPGRADE THINKIN ON e6600 WITH MOBO AND 2GIG RAM 6400 ALONG WITH ARTIC COLLER FREEZER 7.

can anyone help me with some good info as what mobo and ram to buy.

also would i be better getting 2 gig cheaper ram or 1gig of corsair or similar.

I like the AC freezer idea (great value) but if money was an issue I would go a 6300 or 6320 (they OC nicely) .

Try for 2 one gig sticks of memory (not four 512s)

i cant see them anywhere tho. lol. I know of the E6420 etc. but no E6750 :S for that price lol.

Google 'e6750' on the product tab.

You can get them from £125-£160ish. Lower prices prob don't include VAT.

They are, as stated the new 1333fsb intels (this is the new e6700 @ 2.66ghz) so ensure the mobo supports/has a new bios to enable support.

That price is dirt cheap - I hope thay are a reputable seller?

E6750 series aren't actually released yet...they're released on Monday.

However, I've seen Eclipse Computers have put them up on the website, so I'm guessing you've got your prices from there?

Thanks for the info prosser, having read the reveiws on that firm dont think i be doing buisness with them.

as these new E6750 cpus are our 22nd july ill wait and see whats what then, i understand from the reveiws there is going to be a massive price drop with these when they come out looking foorward to see what come of it.

Nope.

New 1333fsb CPU's won't be seeing any reduction - they are just being released!

Some high end cups will - qx's etc.

Wait till Mon/Tues and get them from a reputable place, expect to pay 150ish
