(help) AMD CCC not working since I got ASUS M$89GTS board

I basically just took my old board out and replaced with Asus M4A89GTD PRO board bought from ebay for £60 inc delivery. I think that's a decent price, not a bargain though. both 6gb SATA cables were missing and 1 of the 3gb cables aswell as the GPU switch card grrrrr I already have one so im using that and contacting ASUS to see of they can send me a switchcard.

The AMD GPU drivers work but the CCC crashes every tikme and windows just says it's "checking for a solution" and never finds one.

I cant use the catalyst control centre interface at all. I didn't do a complete re-install of the OS and when I first tried the board the PC hung during all it's driver updates. I then went into safe mode and installed all the usual stuff, then booted normally and system is working fine, apart from the CCC of course.

Any ideas lads?

i think the person who put it on eBay FUBAR'd it.

The safest thing to do with a new motherboard would be to do a format and reinstall, but you could try completely removing every ati driver / software and then re-installing.

Uninstall all AMD drivers and registry files also any ATI files or folders in users/"username"/app data/local and users/"username"/app data/roaming also delete the ATI and ATI Technology folders from C:\, C:\program files and C:\program files(x86).

I had a problem with CCC crashing all the time with my 4850 last year and the driver uninstaller doesn't delete all files listed above unless they have fixed it with the newer uninstall manager. After I manually deleted all those and then reinstalled the Catalyst driver package it fixed the prob.
