Hello everyone!
I am a student in Texas and currently going to the University of Texas at Austin. I got into building a few years back, around the age of 16 or 17, and haven't stopped thinking about it. Since then I have helped several friends along the way, trying to share my growing knowledge and put them in the right direction. I started off wanting to just build a rig in a nice case and go and do my gaming and such, but I have grown to love the look and feel of a nice setup from the inside and out. With that I have begun my PC transformation, turning a normal gaming rig into something of beauty. These are my current specs, but will be upgrading soon.
CPU: 2500K (Upgrading with Haswell)
Motherboard: MSI P67 GD55 (Upgrading with Haswell)
RAM: 8gb of Corsair Vengeance 1600 (Upgrading to 16 very soon)
Graphics Card: (2) EVGA 560 Ti SC with new backplates. (Upgrading to either a 680 4gb version, haven't decided the manufacturer, or a 780 if they come out soon enough)
Case: In-Win H-frame (Won at Quakecon 2012, my last case was a Thermaltake Level 10 GT, I know many people didn't like it but I loved the look, currently looking for a new sleek case with clear side panel windows on both sides for a future build, have yet to find one)
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W (Upgrading to a Hybrid Pro soon, fully modular and looks better with the current setup, would go with the Corsair 760/860i but I'm not looking for any red in the changes)
SSD: Corsair Force 3 90gb (Looking to get a Vector eventually, would look really nice in my current build)
HDD: (2) 320 gb Samsung 7200RPM drives pulled out of old PCs. (Upgrading to a new 1 or 2 tb soon)
CPU Cooler: Currently running the stock one, was using a CM v8, but took it out during the computers transition phase. (Was going to upgrade to a h80i, but I think I've decided the new h60 as it won't be too big for my current case, of course I am up to any thoughts on this, nothing is finalized.)
Here are some pictures of my computer.
This is an older picture. Currently the cables are much tidier and the monitors are better positioned. You can tell the middle monitor is different, a choice I made for the webcam to be positioned more proper. I've done a lot with color calibration so nothing looks off.
This is the old case.
And this is the current look with the new case but without the backplates. So far I have custom created an acrylic side panel, added lights and changed the graphics cards area by adding two backplates and a hard SLI bridge. My plans for the close future include custom creating and braided cables for both the case headers and the PSU cables. I will be adding in 8gb of Vengeance in blue and changing the PSU to a CM Hybrid Pro. The decision between an h80i and an h60 still isn't finalized but as of now it will be the h60. Also I am by no means a fanboy of anything otherthan performance, if AMD is better, then I would choose them for my CPU and vice verse. Also, I do have a nice setup but it has been a process with the help of scholarship money and such.
I'm still up for any ideas concerning this build. I am happy to be apart of this community now even though I've been following TTL for awhile now. Sorry for such a lengthy introduction but I enjoyed making one. I look forward to many more discussions.
