Heeeeeelp!

Currently I'm not using Linux. Though for a few years straight it was my main OS. I'm currently using Windows Server 2003 as my main OS as it seems to be the only recent operating system from Microshit that's more stable than a homeless DC crackhead (not saying much  ).

Linux is by far the best choice for stability and uptime. If you're a hardcore gamer, etc like myself then Winblows is going to be your best bet. Stay clear of XP if at all possible, that shit SUCKS.

If you fancy giving Linux a go you can check out some of the hottest distro's on the market @ www.linuxiso.org. Fedora Core (ie RedHate), SuSe, Debian, and FreeBSD are all very well known and highly recommended/used nix distro's worth giving a shot.

limqareb, i have no idea what u were trying to explain lol :D

and fragtek, I´ve heard alot about linux, mostly that it´s not very compatible with various programs and games. Sounds like u use it or have used it b4. Is it any good?? ´cause i don´t know anyone who uses it, and it would be great to get some "user info" about it ;)

and as to the firmware, no i haven´t reinstalled the firmware for the drive, but i seriously doubt that it´ll change anything :p

i want to ask :anisx: wheter what i have is a decent drive!

FragTek why Windows Server 2003?? Why not windows nt or one of the other ones? I am currently using XP (like most other people, no surprise, eh, hehe) and it´s a piece of crap, but i feel there´s no other OS wich is as compatible like XP. I really thought that the newest games would run best in XP, but if there´s an alternative (like the Windows Server 2003, wich i know absolutely nothing about. Hint hint ;) ) then i´ll be more than happy to try it out... My com is getting outdated... oh wait... it IS outdated... So if I could turn to a more stable (and less leech like/resource stealing) OS, then it would be really great (and yes i´m saving up for a new com, this com should be used for football practice, not for gaming practice lol). But until i can afford a new com, it would be nice 2 be able 2 use my machine without having 2 push it like an old car 2 start it lol

Oh, and BTW, triede to install another XP (used XP professional, and installe XP Home Edition on another drive) and now there´s no problem with my dvd drive, so i guess it was in the software, and not in the drive itself :p

Oh, and limqareb, you´ve got a nice dvd burner there, no doubt about it ;)
