Cheers, i'll look into those I love the SE215s but I have had them for 2 years now and fancy something different.

Just the overall sound, they are the first decent pair of IEMs I have owned though. I always used to buy cheap ones before which would break after a few months and ended up costing me more than just buying a decent pair.

I can't compare them to anything else really, but I want to step up from them and seen as the 215s are good the next logical step would be the 315s. But i'm just wondering if going from the 215s to the 315s is a worthy upgrade, or if there is a better alternative.

If you're ready to pull the plug and get something a little more audiophile-centric, with a harsher but far more revealing sound I would recommend Etymotic ER-4P. Should be improvements across the board ~ highs, mids, especially lows should be a lot cleaner.

Cool, i'll check them out. One thing the 215s lack on is mids, the bass dulls them out and makes them a bit flat. So it would be nice to have something with a bit more of a cleaner sound, especially in the mids.

I've got some SE310's that I found really cheap on ebay. I was originally going to get 210's but read they were pretty weak in the lows but couldn't find enough money for new 310's which at the time were serious £. Before that I only had mediocre Sennheisers and they really shocked me, they are still solid today although I only use them occasionally on the train mostly.

I must say though, controversially they sounded by far the best on my One X+ with beats BS enabled, unless they gimped the standard EQ to make it sound awful they come across somewhere inbetween with my G2.

As far as i know the best phones that give the best sound are HTC One M7 and newer models. Simply because they put the most power to the jack so it can drive stuff higher with less distortion. Think the Lg G3 was the next best none htc phone for audio.. can't remember exactly.

If you get a real high end set you may need a portable amp.

Where did you go and how much did it cost?

Just found out that Boots with a David Ormerod department apparently do custom sleeves for £88 including the ear impressions. Looking into that also.
