Hi. Recently I have been lagging on world of warcraft every night for about 2 years due to peak times. But recently I go on world of warcraft in the mornings and sit at 500ms ping and 2000ms at night. I have got virgin media 10mb and here is a screenshot at 10am What should i do ?

ring up and ask to be put through to retentions, say you're really unhappy and that unless they give you x amount of money off your bills you're leaving, and if they dont sort it out you will be leaving too.

I had this same issue for a few months, they basically admitted to me that they had too many people on the same line but that they were laying a new line and it would be sorted after that, which it was.

Must say, i've had virgin media on and off for a total of about 3 years, only had 1 bad experience with them though

I think that WOW uses p2p to update and stuff, and virgin media cap p2p so thats probably whats causing it

upgrade

it's your upload speed that is killing your gameplay + maidenhead is the worst for speedtesting - use London-TranceFM

i didn't even know that virgin still did 10mb

Current speeds on 30Mb. Looking forward to the 60Mb upgrade.

Interestingly, Maidenhead won't even complete the test for me, which is made more interesting by the fact it's the closest to me...

Yeah, Virgin can be annoying at times, but I still think it's the best ISP available (at least to me).

Plus, they're upgrading my connection to 120Mb/s in october, so I can't complain!

Mine works fine, but I do know that there is allot of work going on within the network to get peoples speed up to scratch.

Also the speedtest site is not that accurate simply because you can choose any of the servers and you will get different result's each time.

The server that is less than 50 miles from my house gave me this speed

Did it again

And then chose another and well you can see the difference between them

Virgin are a mixed bag. I have been with them for like 10 years. I use to have a flawless connection until May last year. Since then I've had horrific problems. It all depends on your local exchange (UBR). Mine is over subscribed like lots of other people's. I get packet loss and terrible pings. I constantly have to complain because the problem is consistent

I've not had any problems with Virgin Media. We've been a customer since NTL and are currently on the 30mbps (60mbps soon) connection. we recently upgraded from 10, which was a constant 10 and never lower unless throttled for downloading.

call them from your virgin media phone and use options 2 and 5 (I'm leaving number) and they will sort you something out.
