Haswell Query

Hello Lads,

This is just a query if I were to build a new pc using Haswell.

I'm looking to 780 SLI and still use my Asus Xonar D2X PCI-E Soundcard. Now with Haswell only having 16 PCI-E Lanes so the 2 cards would be in 8x mode, so does that mean they'll be 4x/4x/1x speeds (being 780/780/D2X)?

Pretty much yes mate. Theres only so many lanes available.

would a PLX chip help with matters (and yes I know it behaves as if it switches stuff off but very fast manner). I was looking at an XPower mobo u see.

I've also heard that even though it has 16 PCI-E 3.0 lanes it also has 8 PCI-E 2.0 lanes extra....??? Google aint helping.
