Hardcano 9

Ok i have just bought a hardcano 9 (fully aware that the spec say's it cannot read below 0 degree's C), i also bought it cause of the 4 fan controllers. but my question is this, does anyone know that if i replaced the thermistor with one that can read below 0 will it work, or would the electronics for the LCD screen need reprogramming? thanks
