I'm looking to have 3 or 4 hard drives set up in raid and have them in an enclosure and fileshare them accross the network. Does anyone know if any sort of enclosure exists?

Alternaitive would be to use a mini/nano-itx motherboard in a case with 4 hard drives etc. but i cant fins any case's that will do the job.

Any advice would be helpful.

thanks.

OOOOO now... this is a thread and a half considering. We have some firewire enclosures that now support striping across multiple disks via a FIREWIRE connection. Prevously XP didnt support this but we been testing with vista today and it workd.

There are a few NAS (network attached storage solutions) but they arent cheap . If youhave a small pc and dont mind leaving it on, running windows network sharing (or mac or linux or unix) then we have these

2 bay Firewire Enclosures

or

4 bay Firewire enclosures

Ive not tried striping with XP just yet but thats on the "to do" list of tomorrow. Along with million other todos

There is this unit

Stardom SR3610-2S-SB2

Not tried and tested by us but we sold a few of them. We might have some more but let us know what sort of things you are intersted in. We get to play with a lot of units here :D

(soz to hijack the thread :D )

you havent hijacked the thread at all, you've given me some other ideas. Is it possible that you do the following without the hard drives, as i would be lookinh to add more hard drives when i can afford it.
