Hard drive advice? (Raid 0)

Hi guys.

Basicly, i'm too cheap to afford an SSD or a hybrid. So I want a decent raid setup because i'm starting to get impatient with my hard drive now.

Looking to spend no more than £80 (Not including delivery) Only want 2, and atleast 1TB (total, not each) space. I had my eyes on the Samsung spinpoint F3's, as they seam fast. But after reading up on them more, they seam to fail quite fast, heard that from a few different people.

So any suggestions would be great. Also, I don't have a raid card, so i'll just be using my motherboard.

Thanks.

Western Digital Caviar Blacks have 4 in raid 0 and love them 7200rpm sata 6GB/sec and 64MB cache

I can get 2 500gb Caviar blacks on ebuyer within budget, Thanks guys

In RAID 0 i'd go for the Caviar Black, RE4 or Seagate Constellation. But since you only need 500 GB drives, there is not much choice. I have several F3's at home. None has failed (yet). I've been using them in a 5 bay NAS, now they're in a 4-bay eSATA enclosure serving backup needs. no problem whatsoever.

the level of vibration the caviar blacks or RE4 give away to not too well dampened pc enclosures is enourmous. the F3 is much better in this regard, i think. but the Caviar and RE4 outperforms the Constellation or F3.

generally there are only two things i generally avoid when choosing disks: hitachi and anything with 5400rpm.
