H80 screw holes sheared, Fixable ?

Went to install my H80i last night and for some reason all 4 screw holes on the radiator have sheared meaning I can't screw it onto the case chassis.

I must of gotten a bad batch as I used my fingers to tighten the screws and they just kept going round then I had a closer look and noticed the thread on the inside had gone, Very cheap metal used here.

Is there any chance I could get a bolt to pass through the fan, The radiator, through the next fan and out the back were I could put a nut on ?

I would rather avoid doing an RMA as my last one with Corsair took a very long time.

Actually the metal is fine and if you had just used your fingers it would never have gone.

Its ok to say "I did them up too tight now I need to fix it" youll get more respect that way matey. Need to remember Im an engineer.

But i also have found the Metal a bit wrong some time, not chaep in that way. But the H100 on my test rig, one of the holes was hard to get the screw in. Needed to use tools ..

As far as I can tell I didn't over tighten them, I didn't use any excessive force, But then again I can be a bit forceful with screws sometimes.

In your vid of the mahoosive amount of Corsair SP fans bolted on to an H100 didn't you have a big bolt each side and could you pass this through the actual radiator ?

I had to to brace it. I couldnt get threaded bar the right size so went smaller and bolted both ends.

You couldnt over tighten just using your fingers matey.

You probably shagged the threads before if you did...... Wasnt the first fitment was it.

No it was the 4th or 5th I believe, Had it through multiple mobos.

No it's not harsh at all, I tightened it all 5 times by hand, Ever tried to over tighten a screw by hand ? Not doable.
The only place I used an actual screw driver was on the CPU block and That is in perfect condition.

By hand but with a screw driver is EASILY enough to fuck threads dude. LOL

ive wrung threads with my beast fingers before. can you source a m4 tap and just make the holes accept a chunkier screw. that what i would do if i wrecked a thread. or check out rivnuts i think they are called, they are like a rivet with threads

I know but I don't understand why the threads are creamed on the radiator when I only tightened them by hand but they are fine on the block which I tightened with a screw driver, Confooozed.

Anyway enough of that, I've ordered myself another H80i from the awesomness that is Aria, Next day delivery

Hate to say it mate but I abuse the shit out of mine and they may be a lil slack now but never had any problems. They need abuse to be ruined tbh

I had the same problem few days ago with an H100i. To be honest I always fight with radiators (all brands) and most of the times I know is my fault. But I ask myself, why with cpu socket threads or other pc parts, like PCI brackets this happen less frequently? Ok, I have to be careful and is my fault, but a radiator has to deal with screws and if I want to put and remove a radiator multiple times I have to be able to do it without being scared liked and open heart surgery. Just my toughts. I respect Corsair owning a lot of their products

Well say if you are putting the crews in for a CPU block the thread goes quite deep so even though the threads may be small and fairly delicate when going 3-5mm deep into the thread there is a considerable amount of material holding the screw in place. On a radiator you have about 1.5mm of material that a hole is just punched or drilled through then a threading process is applied there is no where near the same amount of material to anchor so over time with multiple fittings the threads are very likely to get slack or spin.
