H100 high temps?

i was playing planet-side 2 after recently switching out my stock cooler for a h100 and around 20-30 min into playing my computer just shut down (im assuming it was heat related) i read something on the forums about over-tightening the block so i loosened mine a tad bit and temps seemed to go down a little on hwm moniter under the amd fx-8350 section(20 degrees c) while the section within the motherboard says cpu is at 39 degrees c so im wondering if i fixed the problem by loosening a little bit or if those are high for idle temps?

Thank you in advance

---pc specs---
amd fx 8350
asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
8 gb corsair vengeance 1866MHz
3gb EVGA SC gtx 780
windows 7 64bit

The cpu idle seems a tad on the high side depending on ambient temps but no where near causing you computer to shut down. I would monitor your temps during load which are more important. Also check if the pump is running (it should read as the cpu fan rpm).

IIRC, the only software to properly monitor the AMD FX series' temps is by using AMD Overdrive. Try that one and report back if you can :)

I'm assuming everything is at stock speeds?

OK so it happened 2 times again but the second time i pressed ctrl+alt+delete as soon as my screen went black and i saw a notification on the taskbar saying something about NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode driver stopped responding and has recovered, do you guys have anything on that?

Nvidia.
Driver.
Ring any bells? ;)

driver sweep so you've got no Nvidia drivers left. Then download the latest ones.
The motherboard will run a bit warm as you have an aio. My one idles around 34-36.

As Barnsley said use driver sweeper to completely remove all GPU drivers and then re install the latest non-beta drivers from the Nvidia website.

ok i did the driver sweep with a program from guru 3d i think and reinstalled the current driver for gtx 780 i will try again and see if it worked
again thank you for your help
