GTX780ti Coming!

I'm so glad I haven't gone and got myself a 780 or 290X, bring on the Ti! I'm looking forward to seeing G-sync monitors hit the market too. Lets hope they don't cost a fortune!

MrKambo I love you right now.

On topic: Torn between 2 R9 290X and 2 780Ti's D:

NVIDIA's G-Sync swings it for me.

bet the monitors cost a fortune and its only available on as far as i know TN monitors, it sounds great but its going to be nvidia propitiatory which sucks

I expect them to cost more, but only slightly. Yes to begin with it will only be in TN displays, but they are allegedly working on bringing it to a larger range of display technologies.

If they want it to be adopted then they cant afford to make it expensive and only have it on TN panels.

time will tell i suppose

*edit* it still sucks that its going to be nvidia only, yeah its there tech just with they would share the wealth a bit

A NVIDIA person at event mentioned some kind of licencing deal still in the works, but who knows what exactly they want to licence.

hmm interesting i would be nice to be able to use it with amd cards too, well as long as the monitors don't cost a kidney

i think the main problem is that the 290x is a brand new chip.

wasnt the gk110 titan/780 chip supposed to be the chip used in the 680? if amd are only jus gettin performance to match that now then imo there 290x is a completely pointless card...

The difference with AMD is though they will release cards that match or beat Nvidia's but be quite a bit cheaper.
Nvidia just exploits the cost of cards as we have seen with the Titan. This 780ti will probably be slightly faster than AMD's 290 but be higher priced.

All this Nvidia this and AMD that and liking one over the other is stupid in my opinion though. Just go with whichever one offers you the best card for your money at the time of buying one.

yeah i do see your point and now i think about it it probably is good for those people (myself included) who cant afford a 780/titan.

i just feels to me that and i dont wanna sound like a dick for saying it, but it fells like amd know they cant compete on a performance basis to settle for the same... i really wanted amd to come out and smash the 780/titan out of the park. it seems like they're not really trying and it saddens me :(

i dont care about the fanboyism stuff and tbh i think its rather childish. i like amd i just want them to show us what they can really do

Sadly it's the way it's going with everything these days. :( Intel are doing the same thing with CPUs.

Hopefully once Nvidia release Maxwell next year which is supposed to give a 30% performance increase things will get interesting again.

EDIT:

Just saw this

Doubt it's true, but if it is... sweet mother of god!!! Definitely "not" going to be cheap though.

i hope so because intel and nvidia do seem to be getting quite lazy...

4k surround and up to 12gb gddr5!!!! Wow... that is all lol

it'd be interesting to know how much vram will be needed for 4k surround. ill admit 12gb does seem ridiculously high
