GTX260 or 5770

Well its that time of the year again...

Im looking to upgrade my graphics card and i am unsure of:

ZOTAC GTX260 896MB DDR3

XFX HD 5770 1GB DDR5

Bonus of the nvidia card is that i can then buy another in the future and keep going in SLi.

However the ATi card supports DX11 and seem to be much faster however no crossfire.

Can anyone give any opinions?

Tough.

Hard to advise to buy a 260, even if ur liking sli, as it would be like throwing a 4770 into the suggestion cos of the generations.

Liking the idea of sli, the 5770 aint gonna suit u - however I don't personally favor sli/xfire - although there have been some major workings on sli profiles of l8..

5770 given a choice right now and stay with a single card. If it were me I'd be w8ing a couple of weeks.

Be interested in how 250 cards sli, not as a purchase for me, just out of interest.

at this moment i wouldnt consider an upgrade as the prices are through the roof! if you hold on till the new year there will be much more for you to choose from and the prices of all the new cards will be justifyable.

Go for the 5770, it's dx11 so should last longer and will also consume much less power.

Yeah with you saying that i think i will hold out and see what's out and on offer in the new year. With Christmas coming up too it's probably the best idea

The performance difference is not great and with the dx11 compatibility and die shrink i would go for a 5770.

Be interesting further with the GT240 w/gddr5 hits the shelves next week. Apparantly just with the gddr5, it places it between 9800 & 9600 performance. Most noteably around 60 euros.

aye, the 240's are awsome for the money. Great little cards.

Personally, i have a BFG 260GTX and i love it. I had been contemplating going 57** for my next build, just for a change.
