GTX 980Ti

Soooo is there any reliable info on whether this card will be produced? Ive read different articles that say (assume / guess) either way, so does anyone have any reliable info they can share?

Im going to be upgrading from 2x 680's and a BenQ XL2420T monitor to 2x 980Ti's (if theyre made + depending on performance over a 980), or 2x 980's if the Ti model isnt made. I'm also wanting to upgrade to the new Asus 2560x1440 144hz monitor aswell.

Cheers!

All you have to do is think about the 780 and 780 Ti...... Its very easy to make an educated guess from that.

yeah i know mate, but there was an article i read saying something about the chip number the 980 uses suggesting it being the full blown model....

if they do make a 980ti and the performance jump is equivelant to that of the jump from 780 to 780Ti then it'll be worth the wait :p

Youre on 680's and want to upgrade but can wait..... Whats the point of asking then lol.

Sometimes you just have to jump ship and be brave and stop all the BS. The 980 has only just been released and we have not even seen a Maxwell Titan yet.

I watched the video of the 980 review and Tom has a good point, if you have 780 or 780Ti then wait but if you have a 680 and below then get the 980. I'm sure you will notice a big difference between the two.

As a complete guess I would suspect that as Tom say's Nvidia will probably wait and see what AMD bring to the table next.

I honestly think that Nvidia will release a 980Ti in sometime between March & May next year, but that is just a guess.

I will be waiting for either the next Titan or 980Ti, and grabbing either two or three of them dependent on performance at 4K.

For you though I would suggest, if you can wait till next year but want some extra performance now, look for a 2nd GTX680 and go the SLI route as 2 680's will still perform really well, and you can probably pick one up for around, £120 to £150 second hand or just grab a single GTX980.

I agree. Its highly likely that Nvidia will release the 908Ti, but as for what specs it will actually bring is probably dependant on what AMD release.

Grab two 980's now - end of discussion. Otherwise youll always be on older tech waiting for the next launch. Buy now, enjoy now.

they delayed the 960 because 970 and 980 are selling so well. so if they bring out a 980 ti it wont be for a while yet. you could get a 780 ti i guess if you wanted to do that instead of a 980.. but unless its a big price difference then probably get a 980.. if i had the money to be thinking about it i would.

What i think will happen i don't think there will be a Ti version, there might be a GTX 990 instead of the GTX 980Ti but its just my opinion.

I read that they are having a lot of problems with the 16nm manufacturing.

An overclocked Evga Classified at 1600mhz is 30% faster than a reference gtx 980 so its an excellent performance jump, bit the bullet and bought two of them from digitec.ch , now goto wait a week or so until they arrive from their suppliers. Miffed they dont come with backplates. They sell backplates separately and they look awesome, but still should be included especially as the price of the cards is very high!

There were rumours of TSMC having serious issue in manufacturing 16nm waffers but this was all just rumours, they are manufacturing at a above average rate 13% faster than estimated according to their December news letter. I've no idea where other tech sites are getting there info from (must be blind).

I don't see how their can be a 980 ti. That usually indicates that the GM204 chip had something left to offer and I'm pretty positive that it doesn't.

We MIGHT see a gtx 990, but thats looking less and less like its going to happen.

I think the next card we are going to see is going to be something along the lines of a Titan 2, then a "GTX 1080" or whatever name they go with.

upgrade old graphics card

Hi all

Im looking to upgrade my old asus GTX670 DCUII as it's starting to stuggle a bit
playing the new games that are out now. Don't want to spend to much on new card as long as it will play new games at high settings. any suggestings Thanks Tom

P.S new to this forum stuff and not sure if im on the right thread.

Tman, rather than jumping on an old thread open your own. Then people can give you the advice you need rather than giving cross messages over an older post.
