GTX 770 crashing my pc nvlddmkm error, HELP!

hi everyone, im at a bit of a loss. I was having some power issues, so I RMA'd my Corsair TX650M and now the new one is back the power issues have gone. However, I was also having random graphics card crashes that I had put down to the PSU doing some crazy stuff but now that's been changed my graphics issues still remain.

I have 2 x Gigabyte GTZ 770 windforce cards, the error happens on both so its not the cards (haven't run them in SLI as I cant even run them on their own)

I put the card in, load the latest drivers and I get the following

The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\Device\Video7
0096(1ed8) 00000000 00000000

this happens when browsing, and if I eventually get into a game it happens then too! right now im using the on board graphics and everything is fine, ive run IBT so its not the processor.

So im down to RAM, mobo or drivers.

I go to control panel and uninstall the drivers and then restart and install again but its no good.

im about to try some older 320 drivers but I doubt it will help.

Im running Haswell
TX650M
Z87X-UD4H
16gb G.Skill Ripjaws at 2133

and im totally lost as to why this is happening.

Any ideas?

I'm on the latest drivers but I'm going to try the 320 ones which are the oldest ones I can find on the nvidia website.

Recently I had the same error with my gtx460 after a driver update, tried rolling back but the problem still persisted. In my case it turned out to be just a driver issue, a thorough driver cleaning fixed it. Follow this guide and see if it works.

So I followed the guide and removed every trace of nvidea from the computer. Loaded the oldest drivers I could find and I was getting 22fps in battlefield 4. So put the second card in SLI and windows crashed and the graphics errors are back. Tried loading the latest drivers again and the same errors are back.

So what next?

Power supply is a TX650m with one card using the 6&8 pin supplied and the other on molex.

I installed the old drivers problem was still there but not as bad.

So put in SLI and did a driver update and the issues seem to have disappeared. I had 1 crash but that was because I hadn't enabled SLI iin the Nvidea control panel.

So, fingers crossed that's the end of it!

On Firestrike SLi hit 21000 and the single card hit 11000.

have you done a driver sweep to clear all your old drivers? that can really mess with stuff if you dont

Yeah the guide posted above includes removing nvidea stuff from all over the registry.

Hopefully all is well now, if not ill be back with an update.

Thanks everyone for you help. As always I'm very grateful.

SPOKE TOO SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The errors are back, tried my 770 and the same errors are there. Going to to try my RAM in it tomorrow and then a fresh instal and if that doesn't cure it the boards getting RMA'd, this is taking up way too much of my time. I just need it working now.

It must be the drivers because ALOT (including me) of people have trouble getting their 700 series cards running stable atm.

I moved from a 660 ti that worked fine to a 760 that now crashes on boot, desktop idle and in games that used to run fine with the 660 ti.

All we can do is wait i think. :(

Just out of curiosity, how come you are using a molex adapter to power your second card? Doesn't the PSU have a second modular set of cables provided?
and out of curiosity why ya bumping a 3 month old thread lol chances are that since he hasnt replied in 3 months he has it fixed or no longer here.
