GTX 750 Ti PPD

I've been scanning every site i know of (and alot i didn't) since it was 1st reviewed for folding results but no one has posted any actual PPD, i don't know whether that's because no one has bothered trying to fold on it yet or folding doesn't work on it yet? its in the gpu.txt file so it should.

Anyway.....

I've ordered one and hopefully it should be here tomorrow so finally we can get some solid numbers (if it works lol, if not then it'll replace my old 560SE as a casual gaming card)

Watch this space

Already seen them thanks but we need proper PPD on WU's 8900 & 9401 as those numbers / charts don't mean a thing.

Sounds interesting, will be interested in this as well - what version/aib did you go for?

Right quick update...

The latest client 7.4.2 see's the card and downloads a 9401 wu but the card just sits there doing nothing then it decides to ditch the wu and upload what it's done  then tries another, same thing. Eventually it got a core15 8018 which i'll leave for awhile just to see what ppd it gets.

So as it stands Maxwell doesn't like core17 9401 or core17 doesn't like Maxwell

Casual gaming card it is then

Update: Same thing happened with a 8900wu :banghead: & 8018 PPD not worth mentioning lol

Bummer - could've a nice little low powered card specially if it could of hit near 30k and ran under Linux...

One thing i will mention is i ran Heaven V4 on default setting and it's near bang on the same performance as my GTX 660

What ppd do you get with the 660 out of interest? Does it have a similar core count - or is the architecture that different that there isn't really a correlation?

PPD on the 660 ranges from 38-57k depending on what 8900/9401 it decides to download. The 9401 wu's vary that much ive seen 3mins+ difference between frame times.

As for cores the 660 has 960 & the 750Ti has 640

Might need a driver update to get the most out of it? Really does look like an interesting proposition. Need to try and up my PPD but keep the power consumption the same...

As for a driver update on the 660 im afraid Nvidia has screwed that one up. unless you're running a 780 or 780 Ti then using any driver over 330 kills folding performance in spectacular fashion. The only way to get max pts from any Nvidia card below the 780 is to use 327 or there about.

I'm only folding 12/7 as the noise would drive me mad 24/7. I need the pts but i value a good nights sleep lol

I'm sure it'll get sorted... eventually. Do you have a ballpark as to the PPD?

Yes i'm hoping for 200k :p oh wait i thought i had a 780Ti for a minute  But i'd be happy if it produced the same as my 660.

Right then, core17 still not working but i presume everyone knows this but lets talk core15 ppd. I know i said the ppd wasn't worth mentioning but i wanted to compare against my other cards so lets start.

The 8018...what a nasty wu

660ti (327.23) 17.5k

750ti (334.89) just over 15k

660 (327.23) Just over 13k

So if the performance from core15 is carried over to core17 then it firmly puts the 750ti between the 660 & 660ti (760) performance & if they do optimize for Maxwell like they said then we might just have a nice little low power ppd monster on our hands.

Think I'll wait for a bit and see what the other cards have to offer... or see how this one pans out when its optimised - its certainly a nice price point, but I want more points....

Well doesn't everyone, but as it stands and if core17 actually worked then the 750ti is well worth buying. If they do get core17 working & optimize it then i can see this little card being even faster than a 660ti so ppd wise you're looking at a possible 100k depending on wu and overclocks going by the numbers i get with my 660ti. If they don't optimize but do get core17 running then ppd would be like 50-70k depending on wu.

OK now I see what you mean... 50K for 60W is awesome

EDIT 07/03:

How are your numbers looking?
