GTX 750 Ti PPD

Just joined the forum and spotted this thread. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to F@H but I have been folding with a Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI for the last few days with pretty good results.

I'm still getting my head around the affect that different work units have on the PPD but with a decent OC my 750 ti seems to be able to get a pretty consistent 35K on 7660 WU's.

I seem to have had some stability issues on 7627 WU's though and have had to go back to stock clocks to get them to run... lame. Currently only getting 29k.

I really dig this little card but it seems as though the driver still needs some work. We will see how it goes.

Welcome to the team. 29K is not bad at all :)

Thanks yassarikhan786 :)

Yeah, I was pretty happy when I saw 29k I'm sure the card has more potential though. I'm in the process of having a play with its bios at the moment. A little bit of a boost of its TDP limit seems to have made a massive difference to its stability. Unfortunately though it seems like you cant adjust the voltages at the moment though as version 1.27 of Kepler Bios Tweaker doesn't seem to be able to read that part of the bios too well.

Now I'm a bit more familiar with the bios I'm really looking forward to seeing what I can get out of it.

Edit:

OK so my 750ti has had nothing but 8018 WU's to chew on all day (blargh!) but I thought I'd run a few tests to see what numbers I could get from the card stock and OC'd.

The OC here could probably be pushed further but I haven't had the time to test its stability properly. Currently the VDDC on my card is locked to 1.118V and I cant seem to boost it so I'm hesitant to push the clocks any further. The card seems to fold all day on most WU's but some of the more intensive ones like 7267's seemed to cause trouble and I either need more volts or to dial my OC back.

I have raised a ticket with Gigabyte to see if they can help with the VDDC problems.

Anyway, here are the results! I will post PPD's and TPF's for other work units whenever I get a chance :)

Stock clocks on the Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI are:
GPU Base - 1033MHz
GPU Boost - 1111MHz
Max GPU under load - 1188.5MHz
Memory - 1350MHz
PPD - 14760
TPF - 5min 37sec

My current OC is (GPU-Z):
GPU Base - 1170MHz
GPU Boost - 1280MHz
Max GPU under load - 1329MHz
Memory - 1500MHz
PPD - 16580
TPF - 5min 00sec

The card is still running at 46 degrees and only 45% fan :D

My 750ti snagged it's first core 17 WU over night :D

Currently running a similar OC to the one listed in my previous post and are getting 52213 PPD and 3min 30sec TPF. 42 degrees C @ 40% fan.

Happy days!

Very nice, let us know if it completes that WU.

It ran perfectly :)

I'm not folding 24/7 so the WU was paused whilst I was at work but I flicked it on once I got home and all is good. I'm working on my 2nd one now and are seeing 105220PPD! See the screen shot below for verification :D

Seems like my predictions for the PPD were spot on ;)

According to

ok, this is getting to clearly be a serious problem since our changes aren't working. We've been internally thinking of a plan. Here's where we are:
1) core17 update: we've come up with a workaround for core17 so it runs on Maxwell. It won't run as fast as it could (due to the driver issue), but it will at least run. It would run at full speed on non-Maxwell. We're pushing to get that new core17 out.

2) AS update: If we can't resolve the AS issues, we're thinking of reverting back to giving Core17 to everyone, including Maxwell GPUs, even before we get Core17 out, since this is a major issue for non-Maxwell donors.

I'm sorry we don't have better news at the moment, but this is where we are right now. We are actively pushing on both the core update and AS update fronts to fix this.
So if that's not at full speed then Maxwell could be even faster :D

Just bagged a 9201 myself and its pulling 72k+ but im using this machine for other things so probably be higher if i leave it alone.

A $150 75-100k PPD card sounds delicious to me.

Just a quick comparison my 660ti running a 9201 is only pulling 47k vs the 72k from the 750ti

I'm not sure if this is possible but I seem to be seeing quite a lot of variation in PPD from 1 9201 WU to another. Maybe your 660ti has received a low scoring WU?

A wide variation in PPD has been reported by the beta testers on this WU, also it seems a number of bad WU's as well....

This is "calculated" points, as it has been reported that this project is only receiving base points ATM

Do you know if there are any advantages to running this card under Linux (in a similar way that SMP under Linux is more efficient)?

If you were seeing core 17's what would your PPD be?

Sorry i don't have any clue as regards to Linux as i've never used it and as for core 17 ppd the highest i've seen is around 110k...not bad for a £100 card that sips 60w.

Yep that is awesome. My current SMP Linux folder is producing around 35K PPD for 150W @ the wall. If the 750ti could net me 100K PPD then it would definitely be worth replacing it - but if it only produced 15K PPD then its probably not worth it for me atm. Decisions... decisions...

Just checked my client & my 750ti has finally grabbed a Core17 again, wonder if they listened to us on the forums regarding the said issues? (probably not lol) anyway i about fell out the chair  sadly the ppd on this 9201 wu is alittle low as its only showing 30k, even my 660ti is struggling on one as well BUT anything is better than Core15 8018's
