Hi,

I have a Palit GTX 680 4gig GPU and I'm planning on water cooling it, I've had a look on some sites and the blocks I've seen say fits "reference card".

my question is will it fit my card as I'm not sure how to check if it's a reference card or not?

thanks in advance!

Dave

hey dave and welcome to the OC3D forums,

dave, usually a lot more information is needed, but I consulted the ek cooling
configurator and using a palit gtx680 4gb jetstream, says the standard 680 block
is the correct one. LINKY since no details were given. hope this helps.

I have 2 of the Palit GTX 680 4GB Jetstream cards, which I fitted a pair of Watercool Heatkiller GTX680 blocks to with zero problems. Watercool were the only company, at the time I bought them, who guaranteed that their blocks would fit without problems on the reference 4GB cards.

As I understand it other manufacturers have since done the same with their blocks. I wanted the peace of mind before I bought the blocks for the cards that I wouldn't run into problems when it came to fitting them, hence choosing the blocks from the company that said "Yes, we've test fitted them ourselves to the same type of card." All the other manufacturers were at the time just saying, "let us know how you get on with them."

I got one of these:

GTX680_HE_1.jpg

just got it apart and cleaning/polishing the copper.

if ever in doubt with gpu blocks, ek cooling config is the best way to go. alternatively, google: "*insert card name/model here* pcb layout" or something similar

i am in love with the xspc razer block. will definitely get one for my 670FTW. i am pretty sure that card uses a 680 ref board as well.
