GTX 680 SLI to GTX 780 Ti Matrix, or wait for GTX800?

So at the moment I have a 680 SLI setup that I've been incredibly happy with. However it is beginning to dawn on me that the 2GB memory may very soon be bottlenecking my gaming performance if I want to continue playing ultra settings. However the 780 Ti has 3GB standard Vram as opposed to my 680's 2GB.

This has recently come to my attention as I heard Watch Dogs needs 3GB VRAM for Ultra textures. So should I trade in my SLI setup and sell my cards to get the 780 Ti Matrix? I've heard it has practically as much power OC'd as my SLI setup if not better performing in 3DMark11.

What do you guys think?

Don't wait for the 800 series, Never play the waiting game or you'll be waiting forever on new stuff, Get the best you can right now.

Don't bother getting the 780 Ti Matrix unless your going to do LN2 cooling and extreme benchmarking with it as it was designed for plus you wont get much better clocks over a standard 780 Ti as they overclock quite well anyway.

I was thinking about the Matrix because I liked the aesthetic of it. I was planning on LN2 cooling at some point but I figure it'll be just too much hassle, and too expensive. Which 780 Ti would you recommend? Something like a Gainward Phantom or something like a Palit? I haven't been keeping up too well with the 780 Ti reviews so I only know about the Phantom and the Matrix performance wise.

I would suggest either the MSI GTX780Ti Gaming or Gigabyte Windforce.

^^^This^^^ MSI Gaming or Gigabyte Windforce, But you can't go wrong with the reference 780 Ti design :)

And as I said with the 780 Ti Matrix your paying a HUGE premium as it's meant for LN2 and really not worth it over the normal if your only ever going to do 1 LN2 session or even none, If you like the design you would be better off getting the DCUII 780 Ti.

I believe that you will get less performance out of a 780ti, than dual 680's. The only benefit is 3 GB Vram. Unless your games NEED the extra ram, there is no point in a 780ti.

If the vram is your main concern, I believe there are 6GB versions of the 780ti's being rolled out. If you want a 780ti for OC, the EVGA kindpin gets some pretty good numbers.

Also if you intend to keep the gpu for a while and go dual in future for more performance, I would definitely suggest the 6GB version, as even 4GB isnt enough for ultra at 4k, this is of course you arent willing to go for anything lower than ultra. unless of course you dont intend to keep this GPU for long and/or intend to upgrade again instead of going dual.
