GTX 680 Folding

LOL i have set it up on my i5 3570K 2x GTX460 rig and i can add all i want on it and it works,
with works, i mean.. i can perfectly copy paste the file to the correct directory

I WILL try again on my main rig

Not had much luck since starting your maintenance

I'm hoping to get going soon. And I'm hoping these 680 issues are fixed before I get one in the new year

Thanks for the help hmmblah guys , i finally have it working

The only way is to get it in another system.

I had my 460 GTX folding along side a 9800GT with no drop in PPD but it took a hit when with the 560 Ti.

It seems to be pot luck as to what cards it will work along side at full strength.

Yea i have now tried a few different (GPU) combo's,
but the only card that will fully play along is the GTX295 (GTX260 base cards) but that one has one dead core :(

Might get a good GTX295 but then i might as well buy a second GTX680 :p
might shees i wish I was already moved homes so i could buy it !

that was the plan, to buy a second one ..right after i tried one....

EDIT WoA i have a 18xxxPointer on my GTX680, this IS BETA !!!

"beta" can be good for PPD but can also be bad for PPD,
its a two way street with it...

Got 2 slots at UKNOWN (EDIT and its doing nothing , bummer) now so i am not sure what PPD i am at now,
but doesn't look to good at the moment...

yesterday i had a 18xxxPointer on my GTX680 that was a good "beta" WU...

EDIT2 great, now 2 slots UKNOWN and the V7 client stopped working on both my GPU's :nopity:

EDIT3,

Did someone else had this ?
and how did you fix it ?

Shees stanford it would be nice if you guys would hurry up updating to a better newer client ,
its not like these new GPU's come out in a surprice is it

BAH /stops to worry about it :)
Just going to re-install it, shame about those other WU's .....

I found the adjusted GPUtracker for support,
as the V7 just won't work anymore (download beta WU's)

/goes to try GPUtracker..........
EDIT works right away LOL lets hope it stays that way..........

My GTX680 wasn't folding this morning either. It says it is, but the % isn't climbing and there is no load on the GPU. All I had time to do before work was stop and restart the client.

That didn't help here,
now Folding on the GPUtracker its a tad less as i only get 15xxxPPD on my GTX680....

I'll let it Fold, maybe later better....

If you rather Fold with the GPUtracker and want GTX680 support , here is howto,

1. Download this modified build of FAH GPU Tracker V2 with Kepler GPU support:
Download from fahtracker.com
Download from jedi95.com

2. If you don't have the Tracker installed, you can follow the guide HERE. Otherwise just replace your existing FAH GPU Tracker V2.exe with the one in the archive.

3. Download FahCore_15.exe version 2.24:
Download from fahtracker.com

4. Copy the downloaded FahCore_15.exe to any GPUX subfolder that corresponds to a Kepler GPU. Replace the existing FahCore_15.exe if present. The V6 clients will not automatically download the 2.24 version of Core 15 required for this to work.

5. Set Force GPU to Nvidia Fermi and enable the GPU3 client for each Kepler GPU. GPU detection will not work correctly for these cards. You also need to check the box for "enable -advmethods"

You should see this message in the log on startup .

NOTE: The modified build of the Tracker replaces -advmethods with -betateam for GPU clients configured with force GPU=Nvidia Fermi so you don't need to manually edit client.cfg. If you are NOT using the modified build you need to DISABLE -advmethods and manually add -betateam to the extra_params= section of client.cfg

Good luck and Happy Folding..!

Hi guys,

Is it still necessary to jigger around to get 680s to fold correctly?

I'm trying out the f@h client for the first time as I am building a low power f@h rig in the new year. I've done nothing but install and run the client and start folding.

The gpus are detected as GF114 [GeForce GTX 680] which I have read is just a text file error? They are folding @ roughly 16-23k estimated PPD

Weird thing is that i just tried to fold on my GTX670 SLI and i only get around 30000 ppd (like 15000 for each card)... I would have expected much more!
Is there any special configuration in the fahclient for SLI?

SLI is not supported. To fold on both cards you will have to configure a slot or instance for each card individually

That's just the specific WU not much PPD for a GTX670...
there are much better WU's (projects)...:D
