GTX 670, Very poor 3D Mark 11 P score

So I thought I would run a few benchmarks on the new system, first one I ran was 3D Mark 11 P score and whilst I found that my physics score was perfectly good, I also found that my graphics and overall scores were very indeed.

From looking online I can see that an average graphics score for a 670 is about 9500-10500, whereas I am only getting 7900.

I am running the latest beta drivers

Any ideas why I am getting such a low score?

Edit : It's almost as if it just isn't using all of the card, the max temps I am getting is 64c, and that is with a large overclock, however according to reviews online this card at stock usually gets up to at least 70c

On the extreme preset im only getting 2500 for a graphics score which from what I can see is a lot lower than other people with 670's, also, I have noticed something very weird, I actually get lower scores when the 670 is overclocked than when it is at stock, I know you are supposed to edit posts together, but this is just a quick bump as well to see if I can get an answer before I go to bed :)

ive seen this happen before its a power saving feature on your mobo and nvidia card lower it back to stock and retry there is a way of switching it off but i havent a clue how tom or one of the benchmarkers will know.

i think i read it in the benchmark threads on here tbh..

Your powerfully should be fine but have you checked you are getting a decent voltage, and its not faulty? and defiantly check for power save!

I put the voltage up to 1.10 to make sure it's all good, one more thing, I noticed that when I overclock the memory it runs at the higher speeds but even thought I have the core clock at 1135mhz, throughout the run of 3D Mark and anything else for that matter, it never goes above 915mhz

Uninstall drivers -> Driver sweeper -> Reinstall drivers.

Also, you can use MSI Afterburner to check how much the GPU is being utilised during the benchmark. Could be useful for you.

Ok so I did that, overclocked the core to 1135(1200 boost) and memory to 1750, ran 3D Mark 11 P, and for the graphics score once again I got 7900

Edit : So I ran it again at stock, 915(980 boost) and 1500 memory, and I get 8200, wtf? :L

Not only is that still a poor score but it is better than when overclocked?

Hmm.
I would try another well used benchmark and see how your results fare with that. Could be the latest drivers aren't great for your card, or that something else is at work here.
As before, try something like Afterburner to see if it's maxing your card out.

The GPU usage is 99% the whole time, Im gonna see how it fairs on Heaven now

Edit : Really not good on heaven either, whilst most people on max settings are getting about 50fps and a score of like 1300, I can only manage 41fps and a score of 1035, and that is with a large overclock

after more goodling theres a few with simular issues but its not just nvidia cards effected its somthing on the z77 motherboards causing overclocks to use powersave thus instead of being an overclock its effectivly cutting the power to your card and underclocking it.

its definatly a strange one current fix is to go into bios and manually check all power saving features are switched off check that legacy pcie:3 is switched on and lucid is off post back a result and let us know if this works...

Well I did go the the asus website and download a bios update for the card, however when I try to install it I get a message saying "You graphic card of current system don't match this VBIOS"

That can't be good?

it seems to be a common error, ive looked at 15 thread posts and no cure.
a couple of SLI (to make the cards equal) and three just like your condition. low
marks and performance levels. but they to have the same error. one was directed
to ASUS to open a ticket for issue resolve.

sounds like the card is throttling on the overclock (like the others)

I just ran a P run with 670 and 3570k all at stock and got 8200. You want more with the 3770k obviously, but out of interest, is the CPU overclocked?

Does anyone know of any other benchmark utilities I could use? Using the Hitman Absoloution bench I get less fps than my friend does with a 7870 :/
