GTX 590 Drivers Failed?

Lately I've been having issues with my computer, possibly just my video card, monitor, drivers, or all of the previously listed.

Sometimes I will be randomly browsing online, or navigating windows, when monitor goes black and just as I think my PC is about to reboot... it comes back on. No error logs, not popups, nothing. Other times however, I will see a windows bubble saying that the drivers failed and have successfully recovered. I also sometimes get that when watching YouTube, but when it recovers, the video player is just a green screen and nothing else.

There are many times when I'm only browsing and my monitor goes black, and then the PC reboots. Sometimes I will get a BSOD, sometimes not. When I'm playing BF3, my game will often CTD displaying an error message of the drivers failing or removal of display adapter GTX590.

I'm beginning to think my PC is on the fritz.

I've also read that this could be due to my video card needing more power from the PSU, a grounding issue, or that my computer may need to be cleaned from dust.

Please... PLEASE help me here. I can always count on you guys to fix my problems.

Check your temps/check your voltages with HWMonitor if they are fine then try a fresh install of your drivers, the amount of time it takes to check the temps/volts/reinstall the drivers could save you hours of headaches trying other things.
 
Thank HDCP for the first part of your post.

It's your monitor handshaking with the computer, gfxcard.

Try a different cable. But I doubt you'll lose it 100%.

The second part of your post points towards a gfxcard->mobo issue. I've recently seen what you're getting there on a 775 mobo that, in my opinion, couldn't handle providing power to the gigantic new gfxcard wedged into it and the overclock.

On occassion, everything would boot up fine, you could game for hours - but sometimes during the game or weirdly after the game, the computer would freeze and either recover or restart.

Changed the mobo as part of an upgrade to i7 and the gfx setup is running well in it.

.. still does the HDCP thing with the monitor tho. Tending to think that's cos the Dell monitor is that old.

EDIT: Spec wize, a quality 750W psu and your setup - including overclocking, would be borderline to me. I'd be very hesitant to use that 24/7.

I removed all overclocks at the first sign of any issues, just to see what it would do... and so far it hasn't changed anything.

I've swapped cables now so I'll let you know if I have any issues again, but I don't think my mobo and gpu are having issues. Unless one of them is faulty.

I appreciate you help, and any other info you could provide would be great.
 
A. have you got a spare gpu to hand/borrow? See if you get the same problem with a dif gpu in your system.

B. Try your 590 in a different pc.

C. Your psu is quite small for the job I think, a 590 at peak pulls like 500W alone doesn't it?!
 
an EVGA GTX590 Classified Minimum 700W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 50A) Corsair HX750 +3.3V@25A, +5V25A, +12V@60A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3A its ur psu mate. No where near enough power to do anything really suprised it hasnt given ya issues before now.

But I tell ya what I'll do for ya since I like ya bro. Send me ur GTX590 and I'll trade ya straight up for my GTX570 with the WB included

I'm starting to think this is some kind of trick to get my 590.... but you seem trustworthy.
 
Haha, I know S_I_N... it gave me a good laugh.

But I guess I'll have to look into a new PSU.

So if anyone wants to buy my 750W, just let me know.
 
Update:

I've contacted EVGA and the tech also believes it to be lack of power or possibly memory issues.

I'm thinking of going ahead and ordering a Corsair HX1050W to be safe in my future upgrades... what do you think?

the easy way is to go to youtube, right click the video and uncheck gpu acceleration. For some reason on Nvidia and AMD cards Flash crashes the memory on the video cards just like evga told you. my 560ti rig was doing the same thing until i disabled gpu acceleration.

That was only a minor issue... my main concern was it crashing in every game, mostly BF3, and then showing me an error that my GTX 590 was disconnected. Other times when I'm rendering, my computer will just shut down completely.

I am wondering and maybe you got the knowledge about this. The HS 750 has 60Ampere on the 12v rail. Will that 12v 60 Amp be distributed on the 24/8 and the pcie outputs rails, making the amp go down on every rail?
 
its just a single rail so the 60amps is basically shared for everything. I dont know the exact spread unfortunately.
