GTX 1070 Bottled Necked from I5 2500

Bottleneck is a tricky thing. It really depends on the game etc.

I know on CEX you can get a 2500K for less than £80 now, so if you have an overclocking motherboard that might be a good bet for an upgrade.

A 2500K is still a great CPU and has decent per core CPU performance, but it is starting to show its age.

Can you post your full sytem specs? it can help us advise you on how/what to upgrade.

Don't get a K cpu with h170 chipset
And seriously, unless you have cash burning a hole in your pocket, just get 2500K, 1060 or 1070 and 8GB RAM and u're fine.
What are you using it for, anyway?

Mainly Gameing COD and WOW not many problem is getting a 2500k in Australia i have 8 gig of ram atm so def upgrade to 16 gig

8gb is still more then fine, strap a 1070 in there first and then see about a possible upgrade, but i think you should be fine for the most part, especially if your still gaming on 1080p

Keep your CPU and turn up the settings when you get the 1070

You are not after more fps but you do want better quality settings than you are using now.

Unless you are thinking about upgrading to a 120 or 144htz monitor a faster CPU won't make a huge difference.

You will get an extra 400mhz out of it so yes it's worth doing. At that point you should be OK with a 1060 or RX 480. Game dependent you would be OK with a 1070 too, but obviously in some titles that are CPU dependent you may have issues.
