i made this thread to give u the latest news aboud the new card, u might seen it all, but i just want to show it for the people who have not:)

GT200 = Nvidia Geforce GTX 280 (or the rumored name 9900gtx)

nvidia does this to get off the strange names and make it all clear again.

luanch date is June 18th, wich is 2 days after the ati RV770XT and Pro.

the GTX (280) will come at first, and the GT/S (260) cards will come after that, the GTX 280 will become Nvidia's top line card.

The rumored sell price is 499$ (322.48 euro)

Specification wise it is rumored that the GT200 has no less than 240 shader processors, 32 raster units, 1 GB of GDDR3, and a 512-bit memory interface. This totals up to a completely new architecture

its a 240-watt graphics card. the new graphics cards silicon has a rumored 1.5 billion transistors, though earlier reports suggested 1 billion.

its still not shure what manufacture process they will use, (55mm or 65mm)

Yes I'm hoping that this card will offer so much more than those in the very recent past. Fingers crossed

I look forward to see how it handles things...

I heard that it will retail for $600+ not the rumoured $500... Guess we'll have to wait and see.

where did u saw that? sounds like the old rumors, becouse i saw that price on some very old post on forums.

one thing is for sure its gonna be bloody expensive most likely more than $600 USD. at that cost it better fly circles around every single card out especialy the gx2 otherwise its cost will cause it to fail, considering that the cost of gas keeps rising and inflation doesnt seem to be leaving soon.

i got my doubts aboud that price, the thing is, nvidia gots serious competition now amd has ati, and sins they will release their cards also for a really cheap price. and i know that the 512 bandwith costs alot, but they still use gddr3, so that cheapens alot up, sins ati will be using gddr4/5

but your forgetting the new shader system (does ati have it too?) and thats whats goin to drive the price up

Likely, offerings from both companies are going to be expensive. I could see ATi having a slight price advantage as they probably want to get more into the market again, nvidia has had the major lead the past few years.

The ram on the back of the nvidia is kinda lame, custom waterblocks are gonna be expensive for that!

Look forward to seeing what comes of this, I'd like to see ATi be more competitive again. I like both companies and own products from both, but I'm usually more impressed with ATi's image qualities.

might have to settle on the 260 rather than the 280 as I hardly have £400 spare which nVidia seem to release the flagships at. My 8800GTS 320mg is getting old, but until a game comems out that really taxes it (Far Cry 2 wil do that nicely...) I will not bother upgrading, but damn I really want one!

Life for me ain't been no crystal stair

Well, son, I'll tell you:Life for me ain't been no crystal stair. It's had tacks in swg credits,And splinters,And boards torn up,And places with no carpet on the floor—Bare. But all the timeI'se been a-climbin' on,And reachin' landin's,And turnin' corners,And eq2 plat sometimes goin' in the darkWhere there ain't been no light. So, boy, don't you turn back.

After visiting NVidia yesterday and seeing one of these cards in action I would say that it's going to be well well well worth holding out for one.

I wish I could say some more, but unlike the websites that don't seem to give a crap about NDA's, I cant say much atm.
