Gripen90s Time Log (PC)

Good and neat cablemanagment increases airflow and helps keep temps down and in this day and age insuring the temps of your CPU and gpu are at a acseptabul level is a must. Especially when you have 3 gpus with only stock coolers on them put into a mid tower case.

If I was you, I would seriously put some time into the cable management. Not only does it look bad, but really can mess with the airflow in the case resulting in higher temps.

I don't think Gripen90 has any problems with temps. IIRC he has been running three card setups for quite a while.

Yes that is true - but cable management and a decrease in temperature and better airflow only works to a certain level and then it doesn't really do any more. In the days where we used flat IDE cables they really could disturb airflow and increase the heat build up if not tucked fairly neatly away. If your case was a real mess with psu cables running all over an blocking the CPU area then yes things heat up.
However you don't need to go to extremes and remove every visible cable to get a good airflow ! the "trick" is just to get the cables away from the directed airflow path so the air will go undisturbed to the areas you want to cool.
To get anything between a 3-5°c heat drop in the case soley by cable management will only be achieved if everythings a serious mess and running all over and blocking fans. Severel test have show this already. The extra cable management "mileage" is most for looks and not even lower temps since that simply don't happen.

I made sure that the PCI-E cables that I can't run behind the motherboardtray (simply because there's too little spacing between the sidepanel and motherboard tray) lie curled up in such a manner that the HDD cage fan and the bottom fan still have un-interrupted airflow to the cards. I've run with 3x GFX permanently for the last 5 years and never had temperature issues.
I've got 2x 80mm & 8x 120mm in the case.

Good ol' Thermaltake Toughpower eh ;) Can't say I like the case, but a great rig none-the-less :)
PS: the mismatched card would drive me INSANE.

Thanks  Yea I would have preferred 3 identical cards but no luck at the time. I'm still trying to find a reference cards but still no luck... it may be I'll check ebay out soon.

There is something very special how 3 reference NVidia cards with the Titan cooler look.

Have you thought about getting one of those custom EVGA SLI bridges to go with the cards.

Yup - that 3 way SLi bridge will be the next purchase - just gotta see where I can find one :D

I think the EU-EVGA Store has everything in stock again but I bought my backplates and bridge from techbuy.com.au and they did a great job, I couldn't find any e-tailer in all of Europe or the US who had stock of them at the time lol.

SLI... is that a pun? :p

Nice system, though I'm not a fan of the grey inside or the fan in the side panel window.

Made a couple of upgrades:

Replaced my 4x4 GB Crucial BallistiX Tactical 1600MHz CL8-8-8-24-1T 1.5v Ram with 16GB (4x4) GeIL Evo Corsa DDR3 PC3-17000 2133MHz CL11 (11-11-11-36) 1.65v Quad Channel kit - I set ramtimings to CL10-11-11-30 instead. Not really any difference between those two kits in performance. A bit disappointed.

Replaced the Core i7 3930K with a Core i7 4930K@4.0GHz

Repladed Arctic Freezer i30 with Phanteks PH TC-12DX Black

Cables are making my teeth itch.........

That made me laugh, but to me, I hate seeing cables inside of case, thats why that front base cable inside my case is driving me mad, but hopefully OCUK will get it sorted soon as they have the part number for longer cable and are going to be on at the Asus reps for me, so for me seeing cables inside a case, just drives me insane.
