Hello everyone!
I’m not really a new member, but I’ve always only lurked aroud. I first discovered OC3D from the YouTube channel, than I started following the website for news and reviews and then I joined the forum. I’ve never made a post though, so I guess it’s time to make the post counter lose its virginity.
A brief personal history to introduce myself?
My dad played a very important role with my passion for PCs. He probably was the very first person owning a PC in town (yes, I live in a very small town and it used to be even smaller). I think it was a Commodore 64, followed by a 386 based PC. I also remember an old laptop running Windows 3.1.
Anyway, everything started when at the age of 5 I made first contact with my dad’s 486 based PC with Win 95. It was love at first sight, I’ve literaly spent a lot of lazy afternoons browsing and playing with every single CD of floppy disk I could find at home (mostly from PC magazines). Am I the only one that used to play with Encarta?
Then he bought a Windows 98 PC, sporting a Pentium 3 and a graphic card from the ATI Rage 128 family. Oh the hours spent playing with Need for Speed 3, Age of Empires 2, various Sim City titles and Unreal Tournament… At the time I was the only kid with an internet connection and a CD writer at school. I was definitely a cool kid.
But it was also the time when me and I my brother managed to get a Playstation 1 as a present, so I inevitably ended up drifting apart from the path.
I can go on, but now it comes the part when I start to get dirty with my own hardware… If you know what I mean. So I guess I’ll keep that for when I’ll finally start a topic about my current gaming rig.
