Hi all,

This is my first post, so please cut me some slack please

. I'm just building my first pc in a long time and am working to a budget. I have a budget of £130 for a graphics card and am looking for some advice as to what is the best card for that sort of money. I know its not much but it's all I can afford at the moment. I'm not a big gamer, but I was hoping to be able to play Crysis Warhead.Any advice is much appreciated. The rest of my spec. is as follows:-

Fractal Arc midi case

Asus sabertooth P67 mobo

core i7 2600K CPU

Corsair 120Gb Force 3 SSD

Mushkin Radioactive 1600MHz 8Gb (2x4Gb)

Noctua NH-D14 cooler

Corsair TX750 PSU

I keep hearing comments about the 400 series being noisy, is this true?

Only the 465, 470 and 480 were noisy. 406 was whisper quiet with most coolers.

Yeah, if you haven't already bought the 2600k I agree with Lollipop, get a 2500k save £70 which you can whack on to the £130 you already got and get a nice GTX560Ti. At current, you're probably looking at a GTX460 or 560 standard edition for £130.

But if video editing is a major focus, the 2600k isn't a bad choice at all.

Ok.. The 2500k should be just as fast, if not faster just working inside the software, but when it comes to rendering/encoding the video, the 2600k might be better if that program knows how to properly take use of the extra logical cores from hyperthreading..

In the video softwares I use, the encoding/rendering is just as fast, sometimes even faster when I disable hyperthreading on my i7 because I only have 6GB ram.. The more cores used for heavy rendering, the more RAM you need. Don't know if it works the same way with the Cyberlink software you mentioned though..
