GPU driver questions

Hi guys
I've just bought myself a new card (7970 Sapphire Dual x OC).
Now I've got a couple of questions about swapping in the new card. Because I'm currently using an Nvidia card, do I use the driver sweeper to get rid of the drivers for it? If so, any tips? Because I've seen people say do it in safe mode, don't bother doing it in safe mode, delete these drivers, don't delete those drivers.
So, help? haha

Also, any other general tips for swapping to a new card that's a different brand?

Cheers,
Rees

(Wasn't sure whether to post here or graphics card section so, sorry if it's in the wrong place)

i would probably skip safe mode but i would use driver sweeper to remove nvidia drivers then turn of machine, swap out cards then install new amd drivers. then just to make sure i would run sweeper again to make sure there is no nvidia stuff still lurking. hope that helped, its the way i would do it

If you want to run Futuremark Benchmarks, Vantage etc. you will need to install Nvidia PhysX dirvers

My advice is first download the drivers then after drag it to your desktop(so when you delete the nvidia drivers the display gets BIG so you can find it easy) then delete the nvidia drivers. Restart then make sure all nvidia crap is gone then install amd. Done:)

I'm sure safe mode is used to ensure that the current drivers are not loaded. I would stick to running driversweeper in safe mode, removing your current drivers and then installing the new drivers.
