GPU decision

So I am currently running a GTX660 (non ti) and I love it, but it's just not enough any more. I am currently looking for a GPU in the $300-$350 price range. The only thing that keeps coming back to me is the 280x, performance wise it's just a smug less than the 290, offers 3gb of vram, and is only $319. What other suggestions do you guys have. I would prefer at least 3gb, I no longer want 2gb as all the games I play easily max that out at 1080p.

I'd say go for a 280x. Sapphire do a version which can OC to nearly 780 speeds. My 280x has excellent performance and pretty much all you need at 1080p.

Yes a 280x should perform nicely or if you can wait and put a bit more money aside get a 290 instead as Mantle is from what I hear working real nice on 290's

If you can stretch up to $400, you can go with a Gigabyte R9 290 for $400 shipped.

That's enough GPU to max out anything at 1920x1080 and probably will be for a while. Hell itll max out pretty much everything at 2560x1440 too. Its only a little slower than the $550 R9 290X and is comparable to a $500 GTX780.

If its $350 at max then Id get this EVGA Superclocked GTX770 for $355 with a $10 mail in rebate.

Personally i would save up for the 290 when your budget is so close to it already. If you really do not want to spend anymore with the $350 max budget limit then a 280x is still a very good card. My brother has the DCU2 280x and it maxes out every game he plays.
