GPU Block Clarification needed.

Hello

I am a beginner at water cooling and I would like some clarification regarding my GPU block. I have an KFA2 GTX 670 OC card and I would like to put a GPU block on it, so I e-mailed KFA2 to see if it has a reference design or not. Here is their reply:

Kulin - The GTX 670 OC has a reference design (P2002 GTX 680 PCB ). The GTX
670 EX OC is a non-reference design. Hope this help - Thanks

Does the reply mean that the card has a GTX 680 reference design so I should get a GTX 680 GPU block, or does it mean that the card has a GTX 670 reference design and I should get the GTX 670 GPU block.

Any help would be much appreciated

What does the card look like? If you're trying to determine 680 vs 670 reference designs that should be extremely easy. A 680 reference design will be a much larger card than 670. Post your exact model number and a pic of the card so we can see for sure.

From what I understand ,
you can fit that GTX680 block on that GTX670 GPU...

If i am wrong, please don't shoot me mate :(

EDIT (see reply above me!) proofs that I am wrong !

The only kfa2 670 OC i can find is a dual fan long pcb version, its a custom pcb from the looks of it so i doubt there would be a full cover block for it as its not a very common custom pcb card

This is the card im assuming as its the "EX OC" version, but it may have a black pcb as the kfa2 site shows it with a black pcb...?

If it is the card shown in the post above ^ , according to the EK Cooling Configurator you cant fit a gpu block since it is a non ref. pcb .

Sorry for the late reply, I was at work.

The card I have isn't the EX OC version, just the OC version. I tried to look for it online but also only found the EX OC version. I think KFA2 stopped making them. I had to do a google search on KFA2 to find their old link to it http://www.kfa2.com/GTX670_OC.shtml

Yes, I'm trying to find out if I need the GTX 680 water block or the GTX 670 water block. Since the rep I talked to did say it has a reference design, just trying to find out which one. Sorry if I didn't phrase that right. Here are the pictures you asked for.

And finally the PCB size

Hope this helps.

The reference 670 PCB taken from EK's website:

The power points are in different places and is clearly a lot shorter so I would suggest that yours is not reference 670.

The reference 680 PCB:

Looks very similar to yours...

Your card seems pretty similar to the 680 ref pcb (670 on 680pcb) , so i honestly think the 680 waterblock will fit......???

Some quick photoshopping..

If you ignore the distortion on your photo, it looks like they line up just fine tbh mate. Looks like a 680 reference PCB to me?
